Ran a cammed Z06 tonight...
Finally, a race! So I was driving around town earlier tonight, looking at some nice cars that were out cruising as well. It was kinda late and I was getting ready to head home when I pull into a gas station to make a turn. As I'm pulling into the gas station, a black C5 Z06 pulls in behind me. I could hear the lopey cam from the exhaust as he pulled in, and that got my blood going.
I thought to myself, "If he's modded it, he might be willing to race...". So I pull out of the gas station and he follows suit, then gets next to me. We drive next to each other for about 2 miles or so, then I throw a rev at him and he seems to be interested. I make a right to a nice isolated road I tend to race most of the time and he follows. He says to go from a 40mph roll, and while it's not the best speed from a roll for me, I oblige. We line up from 40mph, both of us in 2nd gear, he honks 3 times and we're off. We have a pretty even start, no one jumped the gun. By the top of 2nd, I have about 1 car on him, then I shift into 3rd and gain a bit more. Once I reach the top of 3rd (95-100mph), I start to hit the brakes at which point I'm ~2.5 cars ahead.
We approach a light, so we roll down our windows and chat a bit. Turns out he has a TR232 cam and bolt-ons. I ask to go from a dead stop since I'm on my Bogarts, but he declines saying he spins too much. So, we decide to go from a 40mph roll again. We line up, he honks and pretty much repeat what happened the first time around. After the second race, I give them a thumbs up and compliment them on the nice ride, they do the same, then we go our seperate ways.
I was pretty stoked after this race, seeing that I haven't had a good race in several months now. I also met a guy with an '04 mystichrome Cobra. Very nice ride, we complimented each other on having nice rides and he also mentioned my cam lopes really hard. I don't think it lopes that bad though... I asked about his mods and turns out he had a pulley, bolt-ons and a ported eaton. He stated the car put down ~500rwhp, very respectable. So I did what any normal person would do and asked if he wanted to line up, but he declined my offer. Oh well, there will be other willing Cobra owners some other day.
All in all, a very nice night.

Well still a good kill, although the numbers don't add up. If you have LS6 heads and that cam then they should have been making more power and weigh less also.
Still who knows.

Say what? I wouldn't say that considering they put down anywhere from 510-550 RWHP and only weigh a couple of hundred pounds more. A 140 RWHP is more than enough to offset the weight difference.
Nice kill on the Z. Anything can happen on the street and usually does.

On average, ported Eatons dyno 495-510RWHP. They run mid to low 11's, and trap 120+ MPH. If that's not "much", then I don't know what is.

I guess "what is much" is relevant to alot of different things. IMO 11's is average now and mid 10's is where the fast cars are. So to me ported Eaton cars with built bottom ends, upgraded superchargers, blah blah blah that make high 400rwhp and low 500rwhp isn't much.

I'm not even in the mood to argue or even debate. But the way you said it is just like it was nothing. There is always someone faster, and once your get to a certain power level you will always want more. But, what I'm saying is whether it be a Cobra, camaro, Vette or whatever kind of car, since when is 500RWHP "Not Much"?

And are you being sarcastic about the 350Z putting down those numbers?
