Default Ran a modded 06 GT with my 98Z!!!!

Well one my buddies has a 06GT 5spd with equal length headers, x or h pipe and flowmasters, cai, and diablo tuner...my car is a 98Z a4 with lts, offypipe, one chamber flowmaster, lid, kn filter, smooth bellows, msd wires, some free mods...well it was about 4am,were rolling around 50 or 55,so i let him kick first because he was not directly beside me and i couldnt come around him...so he got me that time..but this is sh&^$y right here...we kicked from a 20 kick, he jumped me a car or so, but man i was pullin hard, about the time my frontend was at his back tire, my frickin car bounced off of the rev limiter and wouldnt shift...you know what that means he got me...it sucks because i was coming around...but here is a good one..we lined up from deadstop and i jumped him by a little, he pulled back a little enough to put his front end around my reartire, but i managed to ease back out on him and take the win.....he said he wheelhopped some, i spun just a little not much though...were going to try it again sooner or later..one of my other buddies says he can hook it hard, and take me out..guess we will see......but for now the ls1 is up top.....

no, i wasnt expecting him to pull like he did...i believe if i had a 6spd, it wouldve been alot different, then i could leave as hard as he can...i get me a tuner for my car should help alot, with the shifting prob....auto 3;23 vs 5spd 3;55 atleast i believe thats whats in your alls cars..well go figure...the 05 up runs good, i will give them that..

I think all you wil need is the yank PT 4000 stall,LS6 intake,P&P TB,maybe a cam(not necessary but if your going to install the intake?)and a good solid tune and then just play the "PINKS" theme song for him!

I would have to agree with what the others said about the stall and sticky tires. It will benefit an automatic car greatly. You don't need a manual to be able to beat up on people. Take it from a stalled auto owner.

You're untunned? That's why. Your car may be putting down 300rwhp.

Drivers race? Even with a poor driver, an LS1 car should absolutly walk a 96 GT. Those cars are AMAZINGLY slow. If this GT had was in a heads/cam car then he should have given you a good run and maybe inched you out but I still think it would be close since you have the 3.23 rear end, but just a couple of bolt'ons on a 96??? His car is probably making 225hp or less. You should have destroyed him! At least you won. Nice Kill.

im pretty sure its an 06 not a 96. and with a couple of bolt ons on a 96 it would be lucky to brake 200 rwhp. they are pretty slow

Yeah the race is with an 06. And 96's are more than pretty slow. They're like a mid 15 second car. That's one hell of a slow *** V8.

I raced a chick in an auto 06 that had gaurdrail racing stripes down the side of the driver door. I was shocked how well they do run. Good kill/death. Ford is putting together a nice performig little car.

They are slow, but I swapped the intake manifold and cams off of a '99 onto my old '98, and it REALLY woke it up. Something like 40rwhp more at redline than a stock '98 GT

If you're planning on a cam anytime soon wait to get the car tuned, or you'll have to do it again. If you have hp tuners to tinker around with that's completely different. Dyno time ain't cheap.
