First race in new car got beat
Hello, first of all I just purchaced a 02 ws6 black stick stock, and really nice all stock car. I have had it for a few months and it's pretty fast. Im sure everyone already know that. Any ways I need your help I need to do something to it to make it faster as I just got my *** handed to me by this suv called a typhoon, reminded me of a brick. Has anyone seen one of these. The guy told me it had a v6 with a turbo, I question that because he had me out of the hole by 6 lengths. Anyways it took the wind out of my sails so to speak. Just someone tell me what I need to do to wipp that suv. Really stinks, cause it looked like the old body style, like '93!?! Hurts getting whupped by a 12 year old V-6
thanks guys I still like my car but at this point i need to just to keep up, If an old suv can beat me again I will shoot myself.

yeah thoose typhoons can be really fast, the same for their truck couterpart. like you said they are a turbo 6. but they do have awd and thats probably why he destroyed you out of the hole. also depends how much boost he was running. im sure their are plenty of people that can tell you good mods to get, but id say start with a lid, good K&N air filter, cat-back exhaust system and tune.

I agree with JpxZ28, but also maybe consider a gear. There is a code in your door that will tell you what gear is in your car from the factory. Just look it up online somewhere. Maybe put a 3:73 or 4:10 in the car. That will really help you off the line. Don't get down though, those AWD vehicles can be a bitch.

well the syclone truck version had
288hp
4.3 turbo intercooles
awd 245/50/16s\
they ran the 1/4 in 13.0 @ 100mph
they are a crasy fast little ride
the typhoon has basicly the same layout

check out youtube, boostinblazer is a friend of mine.. runs 11.6's all day long, can do it in the street as well, they can be NO JOKE when built properly, AWD & Big Power aren't getting beat on the street...period.
Don't feel bad, check out syty.net, look at what some of them run.. insane!

Isnt the Typhoon basically like a Grand National? I know from GMHP Magazine, those things can have a hella turbo. The better your ride inhales and exhales, the better you will run. If you want cheap quick hp, then get a NOS Kit and Tune. If you want to not depend on the bottle do cam, heads, exhaust then a tune and you should be able to do alot better. I guess it all depends on your $$money$$ situation.
Good luck man!

13.0 @ 100MPH? Whats the 60, a 1.4? Looking at them I bet its more a high 13 at 100.
Anyway. Viortually everyone and their b rother gets the same mods to start: Lid and Catback. personally I wouls save the cash for the cat back towards some long tube headers and a custom Y with a cut out from your local shop. Keep the stock cat-back after the cut-out. That just me though. Plenty of people doing great on the usual mix of headers, Y, and cat-back.
After that its up to you. Nitrous is definitely a great bang for the buck mod. Engine-wise, you can safely run a 100 or even 125 shot for a long time as long as you tune it well and don't go juicing it every day. A nice system with a window switch and all is probably 600 bucks or so. Not bad for 100 to the wheels.
BUT. Dont expect your stock rear to like 100 shots from a dig with a sticky tire.
In the end there is always someone faster man. Dont blow up a car your enjoying just to beat some guy.

yep, in the early 90's gm produced a limited run of these AWD turbo charged beasts. if you compared them to some of the "super trucks" today, the syclones and typhoons can still hold their own.
those trucks dont weigh a whole lot and as soon as they start seeing a few little mods, they're gonna be crazy fast

Lol, I ran a Typhoon, and I was going to take it easy 'cause I was just racing "an SUV." Those things get off the line like nobody's business. I didn't catch him until about 80mph.
