Default Gt vs. T/A

http://www.moddedmustangs.com/forums...er=asc&start=0

Just a thread started i thought some of you might get a kick out of.

You'll notice in the 2nd page there is a guy that thinks mustangs are god, and says his Stage 3 Roush owns LS1's. I was just wondering if any of you have ever had a run in with a stage 3 roush and what youre mods might have been?

Haven't ever run a stage 3 Rousch but I definitely got a kick out of some of the things said. Like one guy said the LS1 was putting down 350 to the crank and only 245-250 to the wheels. haha, not even close really.

"ive raced and driven a few - and anybody can tell you that ls1's squat a hella of alot better than stock GT's. But a stock stage 3 will rape a stock ls1, not my car but i have a freind with one and ive riden with him enough times to say that.

yes the new lexus is fast.

as for price, I say no - you can buy a junker ls1 for 10k. a decent one is still 15k or more. But im not buying a GT 500 either bc its retardedly over priced - just bc manufactueres want to gang up on prices doesnt make the price fair - they are all high.

id rather buy a 99-04 GT for 10-15k and put 15k in mods in it and tell any new stock car to sit on it an rotate. Also fords come off ALOT more on the sticker price than GM does. Hey I were rich Id have a TT c6, but im not so ill just settle for my measley little 25k mustang (including all my mods and hope to see 11's here soon) Price is what draws me to mustangs - for a platform they are about impossible to beat for the money and that holds true for every respective year model since the fox body"

I bought my 98 T/A with 58,000 miles for 10,300. So it's a junker? haha, you can find plenty of LS1 cars in great shape in the 10-15k range. My car had never been wrecked or anything, definitely not a junker. I mean, not an 07 ZO6 by any means (which happens to be sitting in my garage, atomic orange, I sleep in it sometimes...haha) but still a very nice car for the price. Instant power. Oh well, I enjoyed reading some of the posts anyway

They’re all on crack and I'm a mustang guy the worst place for a GT or any mustang (except SC Cobra's) against any LS1 f-body is from a roll. What the hell is a good suspension going to do from a roll with a GT do they think there doing to break lose at 20mph with 3.73 or 4.10's hahahaahah. The suspension and gears would be better from a dig and would still not even the playing field. Plus your right about the WS6 thing its still the same engine in a Trans.

"Just throw a sc and some gears on and you'll take them all! I like destroying firehawks! " <========= Clear example of dilusion at it's worst.

Lol. Well reading that makes me laugh, Because when talking to most Mustang owners, and I am not saying all of them, but most that I talk to say that I cant compete at all with my Car. That the mustang is much faster, and will always be. But when I read that it made me feel good, knowing that are some people that drives stangs and will still stick up for us f-boders.... As for the looks department, I love the look of my Z28, And I don't really care what they think on that..

YEs but we got a better tune, Dont HATE us cause we are beautifull...lol I beaten regular T/A's many times, stock so there has to be something different about the Ws6 besides the hood, that gives me the chance to do so.

some mustang guys are just plain silly.

Thats my exact point i was making around here in NH, you can get a decent 98-00 LS1 for 10k easily. Not high milage either.

There is a guy i work with here at my dealership that owns a Firehawk and couldnt belive what he was reading about the launching thing. Hes like..im my hawk traction is the biggest problem i have.

Yes there are plenty of us who know how we do against a LS1....because we have been raped by them many of times. The only thing i hate about the F-bodys is the interior. Just my opinion.

I see your point, clearly.. But I think most of the people that do buy F-body's are really not to worried about the interior, More for the performance package. As in my case. The interior in my ride suites me just fine, I keep it clean and in shape, and its fine with my desires.

Maybe the car is just so beautiful that they let off the gas because they had butterflies in their stomachs from falling in love. All I know is I laughed when I beat one and cursed when I lost (goddamn, motherf***ing piece of **** beautiful car) to it.

Look, mustangs are a cheap platform to build. If done right, mid 12's na is very possible. Even with the mods that My 02 gt has, my SS will be all over it like a priest at boy scout meeting. I'm trying to keep it stock, for a bit anyways. I have beaten a stage 3 Roush and a Saleen....I paid 10G for mine. I also paid 36G for my SS. It is all relavent. When I lose in the Gt, I get the SS, If you beat me in that, well out comes my 69 Z-28 ( 406 cid, eagle rotating assembly, Brodix heads with some minor tweaking, Comp Cams custom grind, Mallory ignition and NAWWWWWSSSSSSS, assloads of it 400hp on 2 stages, you get the point.) Upper 9.9's...............Only once then the track manager gave me a look, a finger and an escort to my trailer. All in all, My GT is the most fun to drive, the SS looks the most sinister, Like something Darth Vader would drive, and the 69 has made 2 people puke. I love internal combustion......LONG LIVE GLOBAL WARMING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Interesting read, and most guys seemed to know where they are at performance wise...but what's with all the 'ugly' comments? It seems that F-body owners are the only ones that think our cars look good...personally I think a LS1 F-body is one of the sexiest DOMESTIC cars EVER!

I love the firebird exterior look. And an SS no matter the color with black deeps looks amazing. But its the interior i cant stand. And riding bitch makes me wanna get out and walk. I hate that hump.

ESPECIALLY black with torque thrust IIs!!! No ****-Fine car in your sig, I had to smoke a cig after looking at it!!! The LS camaros and t/a's remind me of the fox body mustangs from the late 80s and early 90s-clean styling, affordable and easy to modify to go fast. (I should know, I have a 91 coupe that puts my 03 cobra to shame in looks dept) This is one of the highest compliments I can bestow on the LS cars because the fox body is one of my favorite all time cars!!! One day I will own one, and already have the mods picked out! LSX block(420 plus c.i.), turbo, built auto! Hell, who wouldn't want a low nine sec. street car.
