Default killed a 350z with my t-top

So I am goin to school in this pretty rural area and I pull out of a gas station and the 350z is makin a right onto the road so he is directly behind me. we make a right at the next light and it is a two lane road that turns into a 1 lane about 3/4 a mile down the road so he pulls next to me and let me say those are nice cars, but man are they slow. Anyways so we go at it and I instantly pull on him by a couple car lengths and go ahead and move over in front of him cause the lanes merge. All of a sudden I hear some noise and my PASSENGER T-TOP IS GONE!! It turns out it flew off and nailed this kids windshield and dented the top of his roof and broke the siding over his passenger window. I can't believe this happened to me.... any of y'all every had this happen???

Nope, I keep mine locked unless the tops are out. Sorry to hear that. I guess we know where your next $800 is going.

I lost a t-top a few weeks ago, loaned my car to someone who took them off...

You have to pay to have the kids car fixed?

This happened to me on the interstate during rush hour traffic. I was running an SRT-4 and all of a sudden a big gust of wind hits my hair and I look up and there is no t-top on my side. I looked in my rearview and saw it flying through the air about 20 or 30 feet in the air(no joke, the wind took it way up there). I was probably going about 90-100 when it happened. I never saw it land but I don't think I killed anyone. Anyway, I had to go get a new t-top that came off of an SS for I think $150 or something like that. That just sucks that you hit the guy you were racing.

locked or not there are plates that the t-tops slide into. with time the plates get out of adjustment. when they get far enough out the bars that slide into the plates cant hold it on and you lose your top. there are write ups on this. anyone who has not checked their tops should look into it or have something bad like this can happen.

Lost one years ago racing a t/a. There was a chase car that it came down in front of but no damage. I would say it took off around 100 and I saw it about 50 feet high floating like a kite.

yeah I stopped because I didn't even realize that it had hit his car, I just wanted to see if my top had survived. But as I was walking back i saw that he had stopped and one of the local cops had already stopped. Insurance is taking care of his car. BTW I am going to have to blame this one on the girlfriend for not latching the t-top, thats the last time I trust a woman with the SS!!!!
