Default My 350z vs Auto C6

Well, a friends dad picked up a c6 awhile back and has been talking **** at work about it. I kept telling him to bring the c6 to work and we'll line'em up. Well, he let my buddie take it to the track last night and we went from a roll on the interstate. We slowed down to about 45 and hit it from there.I gave him the jump, since i know gm cars don't really like downshifting to the right gear at 45mph. I nailed it in 2nd and it kicked out. I started pulling instantly. I hit 3rd and still pulling pretty good. We end around 120ish and i put 4 cars on that vette. It was fun though to race a c6.

His time at the track was 13.2@109 vs my 12.3@116 both cars were on street tires.

I believe the fastest stock auto. C6 has run 113 or 114 mph traps on stock rubber... Looking at your trap, I would have thought the outcome would be closer.

Regardless, nice kill. What are you at? 8 lbs. of boost?

Your friends C6 weny a little slower than average..

If it's the A6 it should be good for 12.8..If it's the older 4 speed with 2.73 gears its good for around 12.9..

I beleave the bone stock auto C6 record is 12.4..So you'd have had him no matter what

Wow I thought the C6s were faster then that, high 12s from a 400HP 3100lb car dosnt seem too impressive....

^ For an auto? Wow...

3100 (??? The Z06 does weight 3132 lbs.), 400 hp, automatic, high 12's, and 110 mph traps on average... Not that many automatic cars are faster than that typically.

Seems on target to me, but what do I know?

wow a 45 roll.. awesome.

Variety is what makes it interesting. a few different roll speeds and maybe even 1-2 digs would have been interesting for the street section.

but you had him either way. so................

good kill.

I know several guys with Auto 300ZX TTs making around 350RWHP running mid 12s and those cars weigh 3500lbs. Some have even dipped into the 11's with only that much power trapping 114+.

It's seems like the Vette should have done better. Aren't they high 12's factory?

OEM wheels and rubber? OEM shift points? No stalls?

A C6 auto has trapped 114 mph, OEM wheels, OEM rubber, OEM EVERYTHING... 400 hp is at the crank, BTW.

The 300ZX auto you may be talking about traps about the same, 114 mph like you say... And they dip in the 11's? WITH OEM TIRES AND WHEELS? Hmmm...

If so, I'd like to nominate the automatic 300ZX with only 350 rwhp and OEM TIRES/RUBBER, stock weight, stock tranny, and stock everything else at 3500 lbs. too in the high 11's trapping over 115 mph as the world's fastest automatic car of all time.

A STOCK C6 Vette with only DR's can dip into the 11's by the way... And a Z06 STOCK with DR's thrown on the back has already gone high 10's and trapped 125...

Vettes are SO unimpressive.

That's a really nice kill. C6's are awesome cars. You definitely have enough power
to walk them when in stock or lightly modded trim.

yeah, he will admit he can't drive it at the track, since it was his first time there with it.

That is why we went from a roll also.

btw my z is 390/327 and weighs 3550 with me in it

12.1 @113 with 390/327 and 3550 = very good driving and you must have some pretty sticky tires.

Nice kill 350.

But if the rest of you are going to quote "bests" for an auto C6, at least get the story straight and don't quote GM/domestic hating "magazine racer" times/speeds as this just feeds into the importfanboyz' feelings of superiority (as evidenced by the responses in this thread).

An auto C6, as stock as could possibly be (unlike your "fish tank valve boost controller" Poopras that you still called "stock" in the past) has gone 12.21 @ 115.91. Simple fact is that your precious imports need to be modded to match this, period, end of story.

Nice Kill 350, you must be a pretty good driver. You never know with those 350Z/G35's stock they are pretty slow. But they respond really well to mods!

The 300ZX's are always the ones I try to watch out for because so damn many are modded, and they love racing from a roll!
