Default 01 Z28 vs 05 GT

I usually only read these threads, but I'd figure I'd post a kill from over the weekend. I reeled in a new GT with a friendly little pipe and waited for him to catch up. He returned the pipe and I told him he could have the hit. We went from 40-90 and I had 2.5 to 3 cars on him. I slowed down and he pulled up next saying "Damn what have you done to that thing" I told him just the basic bolt ons. He kind of shook his head but said he wanted the run again. He again took the hit. It was again from 40 but this time to about 120 and I had every bit of 4 if not 5 cars and was steadily gaining. He was cool about it, he just happened to like a different type of muscle car than most of us here...when he asked what I had in it, I was tempted to say nothing its just a chevy, but he had pride in his ride and wasn't something that mommy and daddy bought him. He would have probably hadto change his drawers if I would have used the bottle on him though...

I thought you were sharing dope there for a minute with all the "pipe" and "hit" talk.

Good Kill.

yea you'd still get him if you know how to drive. this topic has been disputed every since the new GTs came out. in short, the LT1 will pull ahead, but not by all that much. however, a win is a win.

I think an '05+ GT would beat you in a race but it would be close.

Depends on a few things. If you're an A4, you *should* lose. M6 LT1 vs. M5 S197 GT, is basically a driver's race. Just depends on how well kept your car has been through its life.

I've managed to stay dead even with a couple, one from a slow roll, the other from a dig, but on the freeway I was able to pull a bit from the one M5 (same one as I raced from a slow roll) and one auto I raced. Seems like they lose a little up top compared to slower speeds, and the auto is definitely noticably slower.

Yeah, Ford automatics just aren't as performance oriented as the F-body/Corvette 4l60Es... but the new 5spd auto in the Mustang is WAY better than the old 4spd AOD-E. On the new GTs, the autos typically run ~3 tenths slower in the 1/4, and trap ~1mph lower.

Nice kill.

I think an LT1 and 05+ GT is a drivers race. But i give the advantage to the GT
