So, I was getting some new tires for my g/f last friday and while I was waiting inside, some guy pulled up in his 97'sh Mustang GT. I happend to glance over and saw that he was running M/T E/T Streets.

Anyways, the guy walks in and the representative of the tire company said, "Do you actually need those tires?" and of course the mustang owner said, "Yah, I have a cam and no mufflers!" I just kinda looked at the guy, then the car, then the guy again and went back to my business.

Next thing you know, the salesman said, "Well can you beat his car", and points to my WS6. I'm now in full attention going.. "Uhm.. what's going on?"

So the mustang owner is in defense mode and says, "I've raced on of those cars, the SS and I had so much power I just burned out and couldn't grip... but now I have E/T's on it, so it won't be a problem. I'm going out to the drag strip next weekend"

Well ****, low and behold I am too! I have to test my freshly installed NX 150 Shot system. AND right before I leave he says, "If you have have any guts, I'll see you at the track and I'll call you out."

I hope MY E/T Streets arrive before this weekend. I have a 'stang to hump into submission.

By the sounds of it, the guy is clueless. Run him and beat him by buslengths........then spray him and beat him by 10 buslengths!!

Or the guy was just acting like an idiot and really does have a fast stang.

For some reason I doubt that he's too quick... That car was beat to hell and back... paint flaking and hasn't been washed for 10 years. But maybe it's a killer in disguise.

I have been known to claim that my Vette is stock and it idles funny because I have been having problems with the car...

I just tell people yeah its a 13 second car with stock exhaust that has a hole in it.

The 96-98 Mustang GT's are a joke. To say that they are slow is an understatement. I love when the ford camp says that they have potential, cause they really don't. The 99+ GT's have some potential, but the 96-98's came with only 215-225hp, depending on year. A stock LS1 will murder a well modified one pretty badly (Some of them have been tested to run mid 15 sec. 1/4 mile times).

I'd race him without the nitrous the first time, and then with it the next time. Hope you get tires though, cause good luck launching it with a 150 shot.

I have that same problem; there is a huge vacuum leak in my stock engine.....and these damn NY winters rotted out my mufflers.
