Default killed by a mitshibishi

galant vr4. Was at a stop he came up and threw a rev so i was hooked and played catchup to get behind him. So he sticks his hand out the window and counts down 4321 and we hit it from about 40 to 90 and it seemed like he pulled on me. So i follow him out to the highway and get next to him at 70 and he does the count down again and he definitly pulls on me and gets in front up to about 130. we slow down and i already had the top down and his windows were down so i ask him how much boost hes running and hes like 25. and then stats he ran a 11.4 in the quarter at 131 dragway last year. All my vert is qtp headers, ory, magnaflow catback, lid, self ported throttle body and 3.73's. Well looks like i need a blower

First off, you need to get an LS6 or FAST Intake, and a nice Cam.....then that **** is less likely to happen.

Second, I've never seen or heard of a Mitsubishi Lancer VR4. Are you sure it wasn't a Mitsi 3000 GT VR4? Cause those bastards had like 400 HP stock. They were also Turbo'd and AWD, and if you ever run into a well modified one, they can absolutely freakin' fly!

Good try though...good death. Always honor in a good death.

Mitsubishi made Galant VR4s in the early 90's sold here in the US. They were all AWD and came with a turbocharged 4cyl rated at 200HP/200TQ and respond very well to modifications. Mitsubishi also sold the 3000GT VR4 here, but it was only rated at 300HP/320HP.

i've heard of them, never one that fast.. and if he runs 11.4 @131 he would've made you look silly, so i'm kinda skeptical about that.

The Galant VR4 is the predecessor to the Lancer Evo. Up to the year 2002, you could get AWD Galant's in Japan. The VR4 was available in the US from 89-92 with the same turbo motor and awd from the Eclipse.

They're the perfect sleeper. 4 door with a turbo and AWD. Not to mention a HUGE aftermarket.

Yeah, it was their first AWD/turbo rally car effort. Supposedly there is one that runs (or has run) at Island Dragway (N.J.) in the mid 10s or better. Who knows.

Basically it's a dsm with a galant shell. They have the 4g63t in there with awd, def. has potential and looks so unsuspecting.

The 90-91 galant vr-4 was awd, turbo, aws. It was rated at 195/200 from the factory. They have the 4g63t powerplant. Prone to all the dsm flaws during modding. They can be quick though.

I think he was saying it went 11.4 at the 131 Dragway.

There is no 89 or 90 Galant vr4, turbo awd vehicles sold in the USA. All are 91-92 and utilize the 4g63 engine. A bit heavier then most dsm's but still have the best 4 cylinder available. We gotta local runs 11.4's at 119mph w/bolt ons.

he said a galant VR4 not a lancer..

Galant VR4s are sleepers and ugly.

a buddy of mine has a 70s corolla with a 4 cylinder turbo and a Ford 9" and 5 speed. He will walk over most bolton F bodys.

a mid-low 12 second car without slicks. proably after his 9" he will be in the 11s.

they have 300/320 hp, and they run high 13's at best. Try again.

Galant VR4's are pretty sweet but ya don't see too many of them around, much less 11 second ones.

With only 3000 of them being brought to the states (2K in 91 and 1K in 92) they are few and far between.
