Default I hate driving a v6 vert camaro

i was coming home from the gym and i had the top down and was screwing around on route 83 and this guy in a red 300 passes me on the exit...i figured it was just some guy in his DD screwing with me. whatever

we ended up at the red light together so i figured he would go for it...i just left normal as did he...around 20 he floored it and i did as well. after the tranny shifted into first i instantly got one car on him, lost about half of that lead in 2nd and started slowly pulling in third. we let off at 80

another red light...same basic result he'd get the jump cause he would floor it first and i would have to play catchup

from a 40 roll he pulled about a car and a half on me to about 80...let off due to traffic (i dont do that swerving around punk kid crap...even though i am one lol)

from a 35 roll to 80 we were dead even...as we both blew past a cop in a parking lot on the side of the road. he turned left i kept going and took side streets home.

it was fun i guess...dont really get many good races, the majority of times its people in their suvs wanting to race (not even the high model SS's or z71's)...i really wish i had my TA at that moment though

the car i was in: 2001 camaro convertible, 3.8l...4.10's, lid, catback + cutout, pcm4less tune...stock tires, full weight + top down

the other car: 300 limited (250hp/250lb/feet)...stock

i understand what you're going through.
you see, i also had a 2001 convertible a4 v6 camaro. i bought it because i thought it would be economical (my a4 ls1 gets better highway mileage), fast enough for daily driving (turns out nothing is ever fast enough), and i figured if i got a v6 i would not get modfever (i think that in my lifetime, stock fbodies probably account for less than 1% of what i've seen and most of them were v6's).
after having it for less than a month, i spend nearly a solid 2 weeks researching and bought myself a dry nitrous oxide kit. after that, i took out M3's and 300z's.

what you need is a good power adder.

mid 14's with only that done? Mabe high 14's to low 15's...though 4.10's help out quite a bit. Being a convertible, that extra weight hurts pretty bad though, especially in an already anemic car.

+1. If it was a 5spd coupe, then mid 14s for sure.
