Default First loss......03 cobra

Well I was transfering money from my old bank into my new one, and I see an 03 cobra at the next stop light. I quickly catch up to him because I wanted to race an 03 cobra for awhile just to see how I stack up.

Well I get up next to him at a stop light, and we both take off normally and about 25 mph we both got on it, I spun slightly, same w/ him and we were dead even through 1st and 2nd, and 3rd gear he started to move away from me and by about 80 mph I was at his door.

We slow down to about 55 mph and i'm in 2nd gear. I throw my 3 fingers at him and do the universal 3-honk deal. Right off the bat I gained about a fender on him, hit 3rd nicely and stayed there for a portion of the gear then he started to walk me, this time we ran it up to about 110 mph and I was probably a couple feet from his rear bumper.

I'm assuming this was just an intake/exhaust cobra, I heard the supercharger but it wasn't piercing, plus if he had a kenne bell i'm sure I would of gotten owned in my near stock SS.

Anyways, it was my first loss, and atleast it was to a 03 cobra. I did better than I expected to do. I've been wanting to race a stock or intake/exhaust 03 cobra for awhile just to see how the race goes.

TIME TO MOD

Nice. Very respectable loss, My guess would be it was stock or possibly intake/exhaust, but those usually have over 415 to the wheels and are killers from a roll.

Good death. A respectable one too. But my guess would be that it was BONE stock. Just like silver stang said, Intake/Exhaust on a Cobra is around 415RWHP. He should've pulled you more If he had Intake and exhaust.

Could you hear exhaust on it at all?

.. If so, then I'm sure it had exhaust. The stock exhaust on a Cobra is silent..

That's not a bad death at all my friend. They used to beat me until I put long tube headers on it, a 3.73 gear and a Street Tune. After that I could beat em' 2 out of 3 runs or dead even at the least. Now I eat their *** off unless I run up on one that has extensive mods.

So get back out there slugger and work on your car. At least get some headers and a tune.

Nice death, an 03-04 cobra is my favorite race. Sometimes I win and sometimes I lose, but I always enjoy a challenge. I love losing too because it gives me an excuse to buy more go-fast parts.

nothing to be ashamed of. Cobras pull like trains up top just like the ls1, so thats why he was hanging with/slowly pulling away from u. No way he had a KB, or else it wouldnt even be a race

I'm positive he had exhaust, it reminded me of SLP Loudmouth on an LS1 the way it sounded. Damn, that was the first time my car felt like a dog, I definately need some more mods and soon.

Respectable death man, Cobras are sick cars

Seems like a well driven LS1 can hang with a 03/04 Cobra through the first 2 or 3 gears due to the Cobra disadvantages of IRS and about 300lbs more weight, but after that they walk away. The higher the speed to harder they will pull us stock for stock

slp loudmouths sound similar on fbodys and mustangs. the similarity being retardedly loud. i kno i have one. accompanied by slp longtubes and catted x.
sometimes its too loud. it scares away potential racers. had an ????? next to me the other day and he goosed it then slowed down to my door and i gave him a blip of the throttle, he looked at me like i had six heads and then backed off about 4 cars and stayed there.

Cobras are mean as hell. You did well to race a real car and lose, instead of racing sedans and econos and braggin to all your friends.Much more respect in my book.Ford definately had the LS1 powered cars in mind when they released the "03-04 Cobra and Mach 1's".
