LT1 takes down a C6 :-)
I have been tryin' to catch one on the highway ever since my H/C motor rebuild. Finally today I was comin back from washing my car on campus and I saw one. He exited with me and we were next to each other on the frontage road. Long story short I was not exactly where I wanted to be in 2nd (around 4K) and he hits it. I pull an immediate car length(despite him jumping), 3rd gear i pull another car, 4th gear I pull one more for a total of around 3 by the time I shut it down around 120. Needless to say I was excited, he motioned to pull into the Exxon and I did. First he asked if I was an LS1(haha), then he asked if I sprayed(hahax2). Then I told him what I had done but he still couldn't believe an LT1 just beat him. He was a cool guy and said it has an intake and that he ran high 12's at 113 at the track. So I guess that puts me right about where I thought I would be with my new setup and dyno numbers. Only thing to do now is take it to the track! Anyways I was excited and wanted to tell somebody lol. Vive el LT1!

Nice kill, sounds about right. A buddy of mine has a LT1 with h/c and put down around 375rwhp and is running low 12's, so I would think with 393rwhp you should be low 12's as well in the 1/4.

Thanks guys I appreciate it. It really is nice to get out there and surprise some people. Sometimes it really does take some convincing to get cars like vettes and such to bite because they think that an LT1 is a waste of their time. I'm so happy with my rebuild and I'm glad I went high compression cause I think thats where I'm gettin that extra little oomph of power from. Can't wait to get her to the track this summer. Sad thing is i still barely win and sometimes lose to cam only LS1's!!!!!

Edit: And the LT4 Hotcam isn't really that big, so don't feel too bad.

The intake manifold is stock. The only one they make for my car is the Edelbrock one that just came out but people say it gives you maybe 5hp. I'm lookin to port my stock one and put a throttle body on it this summer so that should give me 20 rwhp or so. Yeah the hotcam is a baby cam, I want to step it up to a CC306 or a GM847 sometime soon. Some nitrous would be nice, especially since I'm forged now but I wanna go as far as possible NA before I squeeze the good stuff

Nice kill! I raced one the other day and their pretty quick. Of course I'm only a 14.0 second car so you know how that goes. Keep us posted with some track times.... good luck!

I still have a soft spot for my old LT1, even though it was a "Friday car".
Would love to put a bit of shock on a C6 even with my bolt-on LS1, let alone my old LT1.
Great kill!
