Default 20 minute race!

A friend of mine recently traded his 1987 Trans Am GTA for a 1991 Camaro V6... what a douchebag.... anyways, he always complains about how slow it is, so i thought id give him a confidence boost. i told him id race him in my dads 1990 K-1500 chevy truck (ext. cab, shortbed) with a K&N and flowmasters. We went out to our old racing spot, where we would race my '86 mustang versus his GTA, and lined them up. we did 3 honks and took off. i spun a little, he hooked well. at 30, he had a car on me, and i slowly reeled him in. by 80 (damn it took a while) i had 2 cars on him and we ran out of room. I laughed my *** off, he took off smoking 1 tire pissed off. he wants a rematch now, when i get my S-10 (2.8 l v6, 5 speed) im going to race him again.

Slowest race I ever had was me driving my grandmom's old Champagne-colored '96 Taurus GL. Yes, that's the "slow" Taurus. I was racing my friend in his mom's '95 Caravan 4cyl. We had our girlfriends in the car (who were best friends), and they were just at us the whole 15 seconds it took to hit 65mph

havn't we all had races like that, back in highschool i had an 89 olds eighty eight and my buddy had a 91 bonneville both of which having the same motor (3800) and where ever we went was always a race and we would end up being side by side for the entire minute or so it would take to get to 100 mph

or another guy i went to highschool with had a 91 eagle talon 5 spd (no turbo) and we would end up being side by side when we raced until about 80 where my car would shift to 3rd and fall on its face ah the good ole days

That's what you get for spending 8##+ years posting every 6 seconds.

I love this thread.

The high school days were great. I remember when I had my '87 olds delta eighty-eight base model, fully loaded I6 fwd. took a full 18 seconds to reach 60. 100 wasn't even on the speedo.

I had a 95 v6 camaro m5 with exhaust and my buddy had a 96 v6 camora auto. In highschool 4 years ago. We raced to 109 because my car shut off at 110. I won of course. It was fun and took forever. I think we were even going down a hill. Cars had like 120,000 and 110,000 miles on them. ANy way nice kill.

Reminds me of when me and a buddy both had 11 sec street car fbods and we took out our 18 sec DDs to race.

98 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.0
93 Chevy truck, single cab, 350

I won.. after 50 aka 5 minutes

what year comanche? ive got an 86! mods? lol yes, it is a boat anchor. if you think yours is bad, how about the 2.8 with a slipping tranny and 35" mud kings? HA.

lol when i was 7 years old, i raced my brand new Yamaha Badger 80 (fourwheeler) versus my dads 1966 Jeep CJ5 4 cyl, 3 speed. needless to say, i put 3 lengths on him in 500 feet

well, my stupid f*ck of a friend got a new car... sold his camaro for 2000 and bought an N/A, FWD eagle talon i was cruising in my dads 1969 GMC ( 307, 3 speed on the floor, hooker headers and flowmaster 40's ). we were going to race, but im still a little eery after getting my ticket. he was bragging how his 2000 dollar turbo kit is going to take him from high 16's to high 14's. i just shook my head and drove away.

Congratulations, driving away wins you a cookie. I have a 95 3.4 V6 with a K&N filter, it's not the slowest thing out there, but it sure as hell isn't fast.I remember though, the funniest race I've ever been in was when some guy in a Dodge Caravan (newer, I am unsure on year) with extra fog lights tried to race me, then flicked me off as I passed him. But even funnier was a few months later, when I had just gotten my Z28, and the same white Dodge Caravan tried to race me again. Needless to say, my LS1 triumphed.
