For instance, I went to the track on a very humid day. It wasn't that hot (low 80's) but the air was thick and the car wouldn't go better than 110mph. It can make a huge difference, especially on a blown car.

Yeah you should be trapping higher than 120ish. Mine has only about 420-430 RWHP thru an A4 and it traps 118-119ish. You have plenty of mph to run mid 11's but I would assume a car with your power should run a little more mph. But then again mine is a stalled A4 so I am losing power thru the drivetrain.
I would be curious to know what your power curve looks like, and yes that GT500 was not stock. I work for Ford and have driven 2 and the average driver can't get one into the 12.2's like Evan Smith did. You trap higher than a stock one so unless you car has no mid range you should have pulled him from any speed pretty hard.

He'll trap alot better with sticky tires. I was trapping 113 mph with 2.6 60's, went back two weeks later with M/T drag radials and was 120 mph with 1.8 60's.
Dougs driving skills are fine, his tires are not ideal for the track. His mph will be mid 120's with better traction.

then again we are talking 2 MT cars from a roll...anything could have happened. But its pathetic that they are not any faster stock especially for damn near Z06 money.

I give the Z06 props. it's a really nice car and sick fast. If you are a car enthusiast you'd have to give props to the Shelby as well or risk being taken as someone spitting sour grapes. That's just my opinion, though.

I don't know if mid to high 120's is possible, without an amazing launch and perfect shifting. Mine has more hp and torque on the spray and is only trapping about 126.

Well Doug, we talked about my dyno numbers for my 383 a while ago. You have more than me all over as you pointed out. But when I took my car to the track with 30 less rwhp I ran 11.5@127 in the 1/4 on my street radials. About the same weather you described. Maby a little hotter here with a 30mph swirling wind. My traction control was kicking in (even though I turned it off) giving me 6* timing in first gear and my clutch doesn't fully disengage so I have to wait to shift. With a clean pass I would say it was in the 130's easy. I switched headers now and have a good street WOT tune. So I am making more power now for sure. I will get some more passes in and see what is up. I think your car has a lot more in it for sure. You should be trapping better than me considering you make more power and every thing else is about the same chassis and gear wise. Good kill on the 500. I would say it was modded for sure.
Now, on to the people that think traction equals less trap speed. How do you figure? If you can't go to WOT untill third gear because of tire spin then how are you going to be going faster at the 1/4 then if you can smack it off the get go. Some one explain that. That would be like getting on the dyno and going half throttle and expecting higher numbers. Now if you are dead hooking and bogging so bad the car can't recover then I can under stand. You need some slip to keep the rpms up if you don't have the power to pull out of the hole. But we are talking 60ft times in the 1.4-6 range with that. I love the people that say putting DR's or MT's on a car will slow it down. It just doesn't make sense.

Can I ask what kind of RWHP your putting down? Because if its less than his those are some amazing #'s for a C5! 127 mph trap with less than 500 RWHP
I have ~520 RWHP and ~565 RWTQ on spray and the best the car has ever run is 11.1@ 126 now granted that was on a stock tranny/converter but I never thought mine could run in the 130's trap.

Well yeah that was a great trap... but Ranger trapped 129.50 in one with just DRs (as I'm sure you kow), so it's not like 127 is the best. Either way it's a car that can do it with less than 500rwhp.

I don't want to steal this thread but I do want to answer some questions. I was putting down 465/445rw on the dyno when I ran those times. The car didn't even have a thousand miles on the motor yet. But at the track the car was in a whole other part of the VE/Spark/MAF table that we could not duplicate on the dyno due to no ram air effect. So the MAF was compensating/ was not tuned there and was running rich. I have my WB 02 hooked up now so the next time out I can see exactly what is going on. I am running a 6speed. An auto will always out ET a stick car but with less MPH. Thank the torque converter for that. This car has always hauled, at a slow track no less. All the other tracks around here are 2 tenths and 2 mph faster. They just require safety crap to run. When I was stock 340rw I ran 12.0's at 116. With 365rw I ran 11.8 at 118+, 385rw 11.5 at 120+ and 405rw I ran 11.3 at 123.7. All the times except the last were on street radials. The last was on BFG's. I can kind of drive the car though. I was cutting 1.7 60ft's on the steet radials. You usually can't hear me interrupt power on my shifts either. The car always dyno's low for the speeds. Maby we just have a tight dyno. I have another friend that has trapped almost 132 with less than 500rw. He is around 490 with a 408. Same track.
I forgot to add that I race the car the way I drive the car. I had 3/4 tank of gas and my tool box and misc work crap in the car when I ran 127 with all my other car related problems. I don't care what a preped car can run at the track. I only want to know what I am going to run when some one pulls up next to me on the street.
