Default 99 Z28 vs. 350z couple bolt ons

So heres the deal, my buddy has a 350z track with full exhaust(no headers), some chip, and cai. I've seen the proven dyno sheets for the exhaust that claim 19 at the wheels, I'm sure the intake is worth a few and he claims the chip is 22 at the fly. Who knows.
Well so he's been saying that he would like to race me(mods hahah in sig). We head out to FF highway. From a 30 punch I pull about half a car until third and the I pull another 2-3. We then get on another highway and he wants to roll from about 50. Not thwe best speed to roll in an a4 from but thats cool. Again I hit third and pulled a couple cars. Then we go from a dig at a stop light. I'm on stock tires for now and he thought he would take me from the line. But, we both spun in first but he spun in second and I took that one too. 3-0 for me The best part is he almost bought a 2002 Z28 M6 with 20xxx miles on it. He wants it more than ever now. He said he will miss the brembos most of all.

Ya, the 350Z's are over-rated. I like them, but they've got nothing on most ls1 f-bodies.

Up until now... the new ones are low 13s cars in the right hands.

This was an 03. I understand they are not exactly drag machines with the irs, but it's a pretty fun car to drive. I've heard of 13.7s in the new ones but havent done much research. The reason he didnt have his headers on is because to put them on, there are 200 parts that have to come off. Thats not a typo.

+1. 350zs might be fast to kids that grew up racing hondas/acuras but will never hang with ls1s without a good turbo kit or nice shot of nitrous.

Yeah very tightly made car...kind of stupid especially with all the race trash talk they do around the nismo ones. The guts are to tight on those computer mouses

Good kill! Always nice to race your buddies because you have a good understanding of their mods instead of just assuming the guy knows what he is talking about.

I actually like the 350Z (except the 'verts ) and they can surprise you. I had one stay with me (mods in sig) pretty good the other day all through first and second. I was impressed. I figured (from racing other 350Z) that I would blow right past him.

Good kill on your buddy.

I don't know how the 350Z's compare to the G35's but a guy here in town has a G35 with a Stillen blower pushing close to 10PSI and he gets walked all the time by LS1's.

The g35's are about .5 slower than a 350z stock and modded.. The stillen blower is junk for the z/g cars. At 10psi he is lucky to be making 370rwhp.

The first supercharged 350z (ever) resides here in town. Stickered to all hell, body, wing, the whole nine yards. Vortech kit unknown boost, but the guy who owns it now was talking about the last dyno it did before he got it and he said something to the effect of 460s rwhp. Thought that was cool. Looks like hell but it is no doubt one loud whiner.
