Default Late 60's Stang

Don't know what year per say but never the less: I was cruising N. on Bragg Blvd going the speed limit when I approach the stang @ a stop light. He is in front of me @ the light so when the light turns green and we get some room I move to the other lane beside him, let me go ahead and throw in that the stang was louder than hell, it sounded really intimidating really. Anyway I'm beside him look over at him and his girl in the passenger seat, he smiles and hits it so do I and I walk by him fairly easy. Then he comes back up and wants to go again so I tell him go ahead I let him get about 2 cars and then I hit it and walk past him again until I hit some traffic so I slow down. He just looks over and smiles along w/ his girl. I gave the thumbs up and were off our seperate ways. I don't know what he had in their maybe a 289 who knows, either way it sounded bad ***.

289s stopped in early 68'. It was a 302, 351, or stroked 347, most likely.

GOod kill.

It didn't happen to be a red fastback, did it?

I live in Lincolnton, NC, and some redneck cruises around here with a late 60s fastback that's slower then ****. My friend beat it in his mom's Chrysler Sebring.

Good job.

- now that was funny.

I'm not at all surprised. ALOT of those late 60s stangs were 302s with 2V carbs...they aren't worth a ****, even with a couple of changes. TO make it worse, most were peg legger's with highway gears.

First off, it was a joke....secondly, if you think a 347 or 351 (C or W) is laughable...you sir, know less about classic stangs than you do new ones.

windsors are great, but i really want to build a cleveland. that distinctive sound and crazy power. older mustangs are nice because theyre so light. a 66 coupe only weighs like 3200 lbs
