02 WS6 vs 80's 5.0
First of all my car is a stock A4 ws6 and I only drive it on the weekends or when I feel like cruising around town. Well the other night I was taking my fiance home which is about ten miles from my house. About two miles from the house I notice this car in the distance only because it had a blueish tint to the lights and I just think it is your average ricer. As I turn onto the main road heading to her house which is a six lane stretch of road this blue headlight car is tailing me. As usual I just ignore him and drive at my own pace. He finally gets the chance to pull up next to me and I realize it is a late 80's mustang with a nice sounding exhaust. While he is next to me he gives it a little rev so a wait maybe 5 sec and punch it! Next thing I knew the car was several car lengths behind me. I may have been going about 35 to 40 when he was next to me and let off around 80. As I pull up to the next light he is in the far lane and there is a tahoe in between us. So when the light turns green he speeds up and gets in the lane next to me and by this time I really didn't feel like giving him a rematch but I did anyway! Right before I got next to him I dropped my car into 3rd gear and I let him punch it first. A second or two after he floored it I floored and repeated the same beating on him as before. The best part is when I got my fiance home she said "Honey you whopped his trash not once but twice!" Then she proceeds to tell me that he was staring me down everytime he got next to me! Not to hate on 80's mustangs because I think they are nice looking cars but I thought they were supposed to be fast.

The 5.0 was quick in its day, but not compared to your ~310-330 RWHP beast. They only make around ~185-200 RWHP. They can be made to be very fast very easily though with their enormous aftermarket.

Nice kills! It was good in the second race that you gave him the hit. The first time you should have beeped three times to let him know that you were going to punch it.
Yeah, I don't think any of the 80s 5.0 Mustangs were faster than high, MAYBE mid-14s totally stock, which was quick in their day. But like previously stated, that's not going to bring much to the table when you're cruising in an LSX.
Watch out for a modded one, though, because with those things, modded could mean low 14s or mid 10s, it's sick. They are extremely light, especially the notchbacks, so it doesn't take much power to get them moving.

good kill on the fox. stock they arent **** by today's standards. the quickest times were very high 13s, but those were basically pro driver's, most ran midish 14s. you dont buy them you build them.

ive never seen a stock get in the 13s, most ran low 15s or high 14s. By saying mid 14s, and great drivers got 13s compare them to an lt1, and have you ever saw a stock 5.0 race a stock lt1, usually a thorough assbeating occurs.

not common, but it happened. people also have varying definitions of "stock." never said it was the norm

5.0's stangs and dry nitrous kit's are as LETHAL as they come! it's those type street/strip cars that give them their REP! and of course from there it's all about the money! but there are numerous 5.0 stangs that run high 13's with minimul mods but then run mid to low 11's on a 150-175 dry hit!
