Default Soo pissed, my z28 vs. WS6

I am so pissed right now. I've only had this car for maybe 4 months and I've done EVERYTHING to it. Never had 1 street race before in it and today I get my first chance at victory. IT was against a blue WS6 with the same drag radials I have. Basically we both spin like CRAZY off the line, but he catches traction a hair before I do so he's got me by about 3ft. We're going through first and second gear and our cars stay in the same spot, no one pulling. Oh and before I forget, I had a 250lb friend in the car with me). So we shut it down and there you have it, my first race in the new car, but my first loss as well, grr.

Here is my critique:
If I wouldnt have had that guy in my car, I probably would have pulled him VERY slowly and might have won by the top of second gear.
Also, if I could have launched it even 10% better than I did, I would have caught traction first and edged him.
Basically I am pissed because it was me who lost the race, I should have launched better. It's a lot easier said than done to get a nice launch with an m6 with 350+hp/tq and only having driven a manual for 4 months.

Oh well, at least I lost to another f-body hahaha...

Still pissed though..

Streets dont like F body torque Oh, just a suggestion, sell the shorties that are in your room. You don't gain a lot, if any with shorties on an LS1.

^ true that I drive great when I'm not in a race, haha The nervousness takes control! lol

Also, I'm in Ca, that's the only reason for the shortys. I'm going to keep EVERYTHING smog legal, so yea...

The guy in the WS6 must have had stuff done to it or I doubt he woulda stayed right next to me all the way thru 1st AND 2nd...

Just keep selling the car back and forth between friends/siblings (would that work?)

nah it'll just be the shorty's going to stock y pipe, then I've got a bullet and turndown before my rear axle.

I was thinking about getting the mac y pipe that will fit right up to my shortys, but idk. Only $190 so it may be worth it. It's 3" with no cats. VERY easy to swap out when smog time comes, just not sure if I even want to do that.

That bastard ws6, I woulda beat him with no one in my car DAMNIT!!!! lol... yes I'm still mad haha...

Why not put long tubes on it with high flowing cats? Best of both worlds.

I think the Mac will only fit to mac headers, unless they make one for stock headers/shorties. Since mac headers are mid tubes, designed for the mac y. Mac setup is not bad, it has Air and Cats are optional.

on ws6store.com it says the mac y pipe fits up to stock manifolds, so I would imagine it would fit right up to shortys as well. Not sure if Ima get it, but maybe..

Sounds like the nerves took over! Happens all the time. Get out there and practice more; find more races, too!
