Default 06 gt 5spd vs. 02 camaro b4c

I was going to the inlaws to get my son and was just minding my own business you know.......... Same mustang I ran a month or so ago (I ended up putting at least 2 lengths on it to like 90 or something) comes up from behind and passes me. I have the wife with me and she says are you going to take that?

Given the green light I punch it and catch up. We are on a divided hwy and he is cruising at 80 or so. I get beside him and try to instigate something. No dice. He keeps the tinted windows up and its night so I have no clue what he is doing. All of a sudden he slows down and I'm ecstatic cause I got my wish......Or so I thought.

The sob pretty much slams the brakes and cuts in BEHIND ME!!!! He just sits there and doesn't flash lights or anything so I guess he doesn't want any and I continue on to the destination.

30 seconds later I'm goin 65ish (speed limit) and all of a sudden the douche gets on it and goes flying by with at least a 10mph jump and he is in the RIGHT gear. I saw him switch lanes and was somewhat prepared so I punched it right as his nose was at my back axle. Of course he pulls some lengths but I start reeling him in real quick. I catch his *** at 110ish (I think I don't watch the speedometer at those speeds.) By 130 I have a bus on him and shutdown. The guy goes by after we have both slowed down and get this...... The wife turns on the cabin light and gives him the thumbs down!!!! LOL
She then says "I hate cheaters like that"

I have talked to the guy before. His car is stock except exhaust.

My car is bone stock down to paper filter except some tuning. Haven't messed with any timing/fueling and I was running 87 octane so I was probably down a couple ponies.

Those new stangs are barely faster than the pi 2v's IMO

Good kill, but they are noticeably quicker than 2Vs. Not quite as much from a roll as from a stop, but the difference is still there.

Truth, but they still have little on an LS1. Premium fuel should be your first mod.

Yeah, I've heard an intake and a 93 octane tune makes a huge difference.

As its stock and its been cooler lately I didn't think 87 would hurt anything. Plus that I have ran scans and gotten pretty much zero retard.

And gas at 3.10 for regular and 3.40+ for premium here makes me use it for the work commute. But on weekends i run high test.

Once the wideband comes in the mail I plan on "adjusting" some things

Good kill on taht loser.

91+ Octane man......you might not have had pinging at that point in time, but you will still ahve it. Denser air doesn't always mean it is ok. 30 cents per gallon...@ 15 gallons is $5 a fill up....Cheap motor insurance if you ask me....also....what tuning have you done, if not timing/A-F?

I get significant pinging if I run anything under 93.
