Killed a new 280Z
On my way home, came up on a new 280Z- I've been wanting to see how quick these are.
I pass him, driving normally, he passes me back and we come to a light with him in front of me.
The light changes, and he pulls away normally until about 20 mph, and then punches it. He's got about 2-3 cars when I jump on it, I reel him in and pass him when I hit 70 mph. We come side by side at the next light and he gave me some props on how the car sounded. I asked, if he wanted to run from a dig and he agreed.
The light changed and I eased off the line (he pulled 1/2 car) since I'm on worn stock tires, then I get on it and put 2 cars on him by 50 mph.
He gave a honk and a thumbs up- cool guy, but he bought the wrong Z.

Good kill!
Are they still 280Z or 250Z nowadays? Anyway, a silver one tried to punk me in my '94 a couple weeks ago. He took the corner onto a large double on-ramp behind me after kinda hugging my tail previously. Because of that, I thought he might be up to something. Sure enough, he nails it as soon as he got around the corner (I'm watching in my sideview/rearview). "What a punk" I think since that is a total ricer tactic (ambush vs. fair start) and I put the hammer down. Mind you, this is like a full 2 sec. after he nails it. He reaches my door and we hang suspended, even, for a couple seconds and then I start to pull away.
What a loser. Couldn't pass me despite a total freebie of getting into high revs before I even hit it.

Do you mean 350Z? Is there a smaller displacement 280 on the market also that I don't know about? Anyhow, great run, good attitude from the Jap Z man.

Re: Killed a new 280Z
I dunno the correct numbering for the "z". I assumed that it was a 280 but I'm probably wrong- It could be a 1000Z for all I know (or care)- they're still slow.

I could be wrong, but I think the 280Z was made back in the 70's or early 80's ... I dont think its made anymore??

yeah the new 350 z arent a threat at all. I killed one from every possible scenario. Dig , 20-mph roll 45-mph roll and 60-mph roll. Complete destruction. I loved it. It was stock though

The 350z's are actually French pieces of ****. Nissan is owned by Renault. Still jap made, which makes them slightly better.
Anyway, good kill!!!

Gluemaker, it's a disease.
I think the clinical name is "F-body Addiction".
My whole office makes fun of me, but none of them drive anything remotely as fast. I have the '99 for daily driver duties, the '94 for bracket racing and street brawling, and the '01 SS is my pimp show car for perfect weather days or when I need to bring out the heavy artillery for a roll race.

Nothing compared to an LS1/LT1 F-Body, though...

Oh, just thought I should mention...

Todd
2001 SS Bright Rally Red M6 with Vortech 9lb w/aftercooler. 463 RWHP/432 RWTQ. Yes, I'm afraid to take it to the track on a stock rear end.
1994 Z28 Medium Quazar Blue. Race-built A4 with 2800 stall. Comp cam, massaged stock heads, 3.73 GM gears, and lots n lots of bolt-ons.
1999 Z28 Bright Blue. M6, total stripper: no options. Basically a "1LE without the 1LE". Only 1117 Camaros were produced in '99 with Bright Blue paint, 2.7% of production.
Damn! I wish I had your garage... You are one lucky man.

Re: Killed a new 280Z
camaro Kid,
thanks. Only here am I called "lucky". Other people call me crazy and ask why I don't buy a "practical" (BORING) car.
Life's too short to drive a Honduh or some other (yawn) POS.
BTW, just recently completed the install of an NX wet kit on the '94. Now I'm hoping everyday to run into one of the Dell millionaires tooling around in their Ferarri and do a little improvement on that scene from a certain movie.
The SS could certainly hold its own, but I'm really not out in it very often. Therefore we are going to leave it to the '94 to humiliate some 6-figure sports cars.

Texas Shadow:
I'm up about 60 hp on your car, but mine's heavier- too bad you're in Texas, sounds like it'd be a good race. How tough was the swap?
