Evo8 dyno numbers

436 hp on stock internals. Yo 281 where you at on this one. LOL! Hey juice, the STI also made 345hp at the wheels, with a downpipe, upgraded turbo, etc. This was done on stock boost. Wow, to me thats impressive! Knowing you made 70-80hp just removong the stock turbo and doing two bolt on's. That shows the stock turbo is real restrictive at 19psi.

Re: Evo8 dyno numbers
NP, those are some crazy numbers. Just think of what they can make with cams, port and polish, more bolt on's and last but not least more boost.

Hey 25psi, indeed they are good numbers. But there's just one problem...
NOBODY FREAKIN' CARES.
Get this **** off of our LS1-based street racing forum. Thanks.

Re: Evo8 dyno numbers
25psi, are you doing an internship the the Japanese Automobile Association's marketing department or something? It's nice to know that you can make over 400hp on stock internals on an EVO, but like the last guy said, most of us don't care. That's why we're not on an EVO forum. Enough with the freakin' advertisements PLEASE!!! This is a kill section, so if you want to advertise please post it somewhere else. By the way, where is that moderator???

Re: Evo8 dyno numbers
Big deal...Drop an Ls1 between the fenders and make 650rwhp, stock internals....Both will put on a nice display of scattered parts as well. Hence running as well as your Mr2....

Nice #s for sure....I don't see why all your guys have to be so negative. It's a cool car IMO.
by the way, this is coming from a Loyal LS1 guy who is also trying to run 25 lbs on a turbo....just on an LS1

Re: Evo8 dyno numbers
So what's the big deal? There was a turbocharged Quad4 almost 20 years ago making ~1000fwhp. And just think, a 2V V-8 can make 8000+ hp with the screwdriver on it. Are we shooting in the air like the Iraqi's because of it? Again its simple physics - not some magic that's just been discovered. Impressive cars no doubt, but not magic...
BTW, heard about an STi making 434 whp the other day.

Re: Evo8 dyno numbers
I think it is a big deal. It sets higher standards for which to set goals for. How many cars(domestics) can you name that can make 600 plus reliable hp. I can only think of 2.
Yes a 2 valve motor making 8000hp is very impressive by any means. But I think we need to talk about something that is relative to 99% of people on this board.
So what physics are you talking about. Not displacement again! There are two ways to counteract this. For one revs. I don't recall the equation, but x amount of rpm's will give you the necessary cfm to compensate for having a smaller motor. How do you think BMW was able to make 1400hp out of a 1.5 liter, by revving to 14,000 rpm. And the second is turbocharging.
If technology wasn't the key for making power, then tell me why almost every car maker has taken the VVTELC(vtech) from Honda and installed it on there cars. NISSAN,BMW,MERCEDES,TOYOTA,SAAB,ACURA, and soon to be FORD with there 2004-5 mustangs. It's proven.
So tell me this. Why are most of the imports(performance)making just as much power than you from the factory. Seeing that you have twice the motor and 3 times the displacement. Where is all the power going too. Where is Chevy and Ford putting it in. Could that be magic! Knowing that you have 5.7 liters to work with, seems like you should be making more than 260 and 320 horses. Not that impressive in my opinion.
What is impressive is, taking a car that has been out for 2 months and running 11.4's without even opening the motor.
So until you can make use of your bigger displacement, please dont bring up cubes anymore.

Trying to prove a point in a legitimate manner and then posting the above only truly shows how ignorant you are!
Take off that precious turbo and you have nothing but a paper weight.
Start surfing other parts of this forum and you'll see if your not putting 400+ ponys to the floor with a heads and a cam swap something is wrong. **** you can do with with a head swap and some exhaust work on a stock cam (ZO6 anyone?).
Some good domestic examples that come blown from the factory hmmmmm the 03 Cobra (forgive me guys). The tuners are putting 800+ ponys to the floor on stock internals. How about a Grand National, boosted 3500lb 6 banger car running mid 13's out of the box (truly ahead of its time!)
WHATS YOUR PHUCKING POINT!!!
I truly respect fast imports, I really do. Ignorant people like you really **** me off!
Thank you very much please drive through!

Re: Evo8 dyno numbers
I hope the ls1 is one of your cars listed that can make 600hp reliably with stock internals. By the way........ The 4g63 motor in the evo has been out for along time lots of parts availible for it. And when you say stupid **** like... "with 5.7 litres you guys should make alot more horsepower" keep in mind that our motor are NATURALY ASPIRATED! What current jap sports car makes as much horsepower as a ls1? NONE THEY ARE NOT IN PRODUCTION ANYMORE

Re: Evo8 dyno numbers
First of all there is something called volumetric efficiency. Maybe a teeny engine can flow as much air as a bigger engine by revving twice as high. Wow now your flowing the same as a big engine and congrats you just spread your shitty little powerband over like 12,000rpm. it would have about 20* slope. And turbocharging? If the idea of forced induction is to make a smaller displacement engine behave as a larger engine, wouldn't it make a large engine act like a FRIGGIN HUGE engine! BTW, CUBES!

Re: Evo8 dyno numbers
Typical domestic comeback. There are no answer's for what you have been dealt. You stuff 5.7 liters of motor inside your 3500lb+ car and you call it muscle. So what do we call a 2.0 or a 2.5 making the same amount from the factory.
