Killed my transmission
I know this doesn't belong here, but I know alot of you guys want an idea of what I run. I am going to copy the story off of another board about my car at the track.
The car ran friday at the track at a best time of 12.71 @ 109.342mph. My excuse, the tranny was not shifting into 3rd gear. It would slip and tag the rev limiter every time at the 1/8 mile mark. It would eventually shift after about 2.5 to 3 seconds at first, but toward the end of the night, it wouldn't shift at all. Here is the best times from all of the runs.
60'---------1.95secs
1/8---------8.061secs
1/4---------12.71 @ 109.342mph
Here are the times for the 12.71 pass:
60'--------2.084secs
1/8--------8.25secs
1/4--------12.71 @ 109.342mph
Alex drove the car through the best 1/8 mile time, and when it tagged the rev limiter Alex coasted to the 1/4 mark and still posted a 13 second pass. That's impressive I think.
If this time was posted when it would hesitate to shift, the car would have ran roughly a 12.48 in the 1/4 with a slipping tranny that had seconds of delays between shifts.
To make along story short, the car is a beast, and Will run 11's on motor if it would shift. I had to have the car towed home that night, because the tranny would not hardly do 20mph of pulling.
The tranny will be built again, but built to take the most brutal of abuse with a 3600 stall, and a big @ss cooler. I am not at all mad or disappointed though, as I realize this is the price that I and many others pay to play the game. After seeing what this car did with a f'ed up tranny, I say it is all worth it. This car is a force to be reckoned with around the Lex area now. Others will vouch for that. Especially after I replace my weak @ss transmission and stall.

Re: Killed my transmission
That is a good perspective in relation to your car. It is an inanimate object and when you start modding things, things break. Go easy on the "easy 11s" because 11s aren't easy until you get there. Good luck with the car and hopefully you will have it up and running in the 11s soon!!!!!

Re: Killed my transmission
It will hit 11's no doubt when shifting correctly. It will be easy in this car. With the old nitro, possibly 10's. It is a 224/224 Comp Cam with a gross valve lift of .567 and the heads flow 305 at the intake. The car is very powerful, and I could not reach it's full potential before I had LS1 edit. Once again, 11's will be a cake walk in this car.
