Default The 400+ RWHP beasts go down at the track to..........The DD.

Yea, so I went out to our local 1/8th track b/c I've never run my MR2 and actually had some good runs in.

Best run was a 9.5 at 73.9mph with a 2.2 60ft, but that's not the best part. My first run I'm next to this guy with a 3500 Ram Turbo Diesel and he says he's got only a Bullydog programmer puttin out 476rwhp and 4xxrwtq, so I way lets run em. He trees me and then by the 330 I'm passing him- ending up with about a car and a half at the end of the track.
Next run (best time) I saw a guy come up in a single cab 2000ish Silverado and didn't think much of it. That was until I saw him purging in the staging lanes next to me WTF this guy is gonna spray me!? Well he caught me in R/T and had me by about a car at the 1/8 (turns out he had 2mph on me too.)

I wasn't happy about the stock looking truck (not even exhuast) spraying me so I take the car to the pit and let it sit to cool down for a bit. We watch some crazy Pro-Mod action (including a door and a hood flying off - in separate races- into the crowd) and had some good times. I see a nice Red TBSS pull up into the staging lanes and think to myself "that'd be a good run" so I watch him sit there for about 10 min. and finally go get the car. We chill in the staging lanes for about an hour b/c there was some huge fight and a guy got stabbed in the stomach and slashed his face all of this over $5. We line up and I take about 5psi outta the back tires to see if I can better my 60ft from last time, well I really couldn't b/c one tire is balding and 2.2 is about all I'm gonna run on street tires. Anyway we line up and I see this badge on his TBSS that says 500hp performance pack (I'm assuming from SLP) and think again WTF why do I line up with guys like this. We both burnout and tree up- I treed the **** outta him. It wasn't even funny. My R/T was like .1 to his .6 and my 60ft was 2.2 to his 2.5 (on chrome 20's no less ) He got taken. He ran a better time by .3 and had about 8mph yes 8mph but I took him. All in all a good night- time for more mods.

Don't listen to him, this is the kill section and street race section. You can poast any kill or loss here no matter where it happened.

That being said, good runs! Sounds like a great time. Nothing better than some close runs. It's even better to beat a faster car because you out drove him! Thanks for posting!

On a side note, what kind of track is that where people get stabbed?!

Well it's a track in Tx. at Kennedale (Texas Raceway). He may have said he had a bit more tq than that but it wasn't any more than 500 b/c I listen pretty well when people I'm racing are spouting out numbers...

Oh and the Red TBSS that I beat he followed me out of the lanes and left for home after I took him

That's odd. A good buddy of mine has a 2500 Dodge and it puts out 65x rwtq with just a programmer and intake.

I'm pretty familiar with Texas Raceway. I've got some family up around Dallas and they go to Ennis and Texas raceway all the time. I'm only 15-20 minutes from SAR.

Well it was definitely a dually 3500 but he said the only thing it had was a Bullydog programmer no intake no exhaust and yea he blew black smoke all over me at the line

I'd like to go up to Ennis but there's no way in hell I'll be going there with my DD until I have times for my T/A.

How much does that MR2 weigh? It seems like it'd be able to trap a bit higher given the power it makes. Can't be that heavy I'd think.

Yeah, I would think it would trap higher too... my stock Integra GS-R (dynoed 142whp) ran a best of 9.70 @ 74.08mph, so I would think the MR-2 would run a bit stronger. But good runs nonetheless

Well it weighs right at 2800 I believe, plus I'm not the best driver yet (only about 2 seasons under my belt) so I haven't found all the shift points to use. I've been doin a little research and it looks like I may have shifted a bit high. On the mph thing, I dunno, it was right near the 74 mark, (73.9x each time) but I need to do some tweaking and also my shifting could be to blame b/c I'm not comfortable with the cable shifter yet.

Yeah, keep practicing at the track! With that power to weight ratio that car definitely has more in it.

Yep, I should be getting an air intake from this MR2 specialty shop soon along with a boost controller. I'd like to set up a 2-stage, but I'm not ready to sink alot of money into my DD. Really could use some rear tires to be honest

Man that's what I'm talkin about. I'm just glad I wasn't in the crowd when this happened. I thought we were sitting in the staging lanes for awhile...
