Default F430 Ferrari vs Nellie

I posted a recent kill of a Yellow Spyder f430 on ls1gto. I was on the Sam Houston Tollway between 290 and I-10 when I see the beautiful car approaching about 5mph faster than I was going. I drop it into 3rd at 75 and the engine screams, he gets on it and I nearly cream my self. We are realy close from the start with me slowly pulling him to about 1-1/2 to 2 cars to 150 before we both chicken out and let out of it. He pulls of next to me and I roll my window down and actually complimented the goat. I thought he was going to call me a suped up Cavalier or something (it has been done) I tell him his car is sweet and we go our speparate ways. Nellie weighs 3660lbs W/Me

The best part of it was that when I pulled into my hotel (Marriot Westchase [formerly Adams Mark]) I see a yellow spyder in Vallet. Naah couldn't be.

This account was a figment of my imagination as I never race on the street.

How does your GTO only weigh 3660 with you in it? You've done some weight reduction?

Not by choice, I bought the car salvaged and it is missing all kinds of stuff It is one of the lightest goats I know. I have seen some severe reductions get into 3500, but I still have full interior, just missing all plates bars under car, no tank brace or spare.

Very nice run! Rare occurence! What mods besides the obvious? Was that run on the spray?

Without the plates and tank brace, isn't getting rear ended or t-boned a scary thought?

Yeah it could be, I haven't tracked one down but I know of many people who drive around without one. It would have to be a pretty bad colison to cause a problem.

Patriot LS6 Stage II 59cc Heads, Mega Death 244/242 .612/.610 112 lsa, Ported Fast 90, NW 90 TB, Fast Rails, Kooks 1 7/8 LT, Kooks Catless mids, Borla Dual exhaust, 160 Tstat, Billet Pro shifter, MSD wires and Coil Packs, Double Timing Chain, UD pulley,

I am missing some, but just FULL BOLTONS with nitrous for good measure.
The Nitrous was there if needed but no I did not arm. Bottle was open and just a tap away If I was not slowly pulling I would have flipped the switch. They were not as fast as I thought. I have seen times ranging from 11.9-12.2 in the 1/4 driver mod is important. I have run a best 11.7 NA with an awful 60' and high 10's low 11's on nitrous.

How fast did you think a "base" convertible Ferrari would be?

Stock F430 1/4 times is in the twelves somewhere - maybe mid 12's if they're lucky, but they obviously shine on the top end which is what makes this kill so impressive.

The 'base' as you call it, (not the scag) has 490hp@8500 blissful rpm. That car is no joke.

It was a blast for sure! Several hours later while I was near Lufkin I had a run in with a C6 and he must of been stock as well. He was pretty dissapointed to say the least. Here was the remainder of my post from Ls1gto.com

After an extended weekend in Houston I was driving home and was just outside of Lufkin when a C6 appears in my rear view. Like most of my kills I am crusing maybe 3mph faster than the speed limit with radar running. As he approaches I drop it down to third and take a short run to let him know I am intereted. He then does a flyby and I get behind him to go around traffic. So as I am behind him and traffic clears I hear him go wide open. Now this is kind of unfair considering I am at least 3 cars back and HWY speeds but I have no choice but to give it a go. From the moment I mash the accelerator I am pulling. By 135 I have made up the 3 car head start and am 2 cars out front. He lets off knowing it is over so I do as well. He rolls down his window and I do the same. He asks what I have done to her and I just say Bolt Ons. He as a quizatory look on his face and I smile and open her back up and leave.
