I remember when I was young and would go out to the cruise spot with my dad in his Z28, he would make fun of the crappy cars by racing at half throttle. An example was when a GTP came up revving and the dudes where giving the 'stare'. They where going ***** to the wall and my dad just kept it in 3rd or so at 50% gas. I remember asking "are they racing", and he said "there trying to". LOL

I do this to rice burners sometimes just to make them feel a lil better. Its pretty funny when there all out and I'm just lightly tapping my gas down to keep up.

On the street I almost never have to race at full throttle. Maybe around 3/4 throttle.

Same here especially from a stop. The great thing about these LS motors is so much tq across the powerband just 1/2 to 3/4 throttle is enough to blast away from most.

Haha best time was when I was racing a Celica GTS. We were sitting at the light and he floors it, while I am at half throttle. I was pulling on them and I see them slowly pulling up and they were all excited and I give it 3/4 throttle and start to pull and I see the passenger say "Oh **** he wasn't flooring it!" haha needles to say i got the bird at the next light.

I NEVER do this. I once gave a slow *** car an advantage like that and the he talked all kinds of **** about how he kept up. I learned from that, so from then on it's been 100% crusing or WOT and no inbetweens

yea lol actally last nite i was driving my friends v6 alero with a cold air when i pulled up to an 03 cobra and we raced he was quarter throttle and won lol we pull up at the light and hes like do you think u even stood a chance im like no but i have a t/a at home that will send you off crying lol

i have like been in 4th or 5th and a slower car pulls up i stay in that gear and inch ahead... but then i come home and wait to see a thread like "almost beat a gto today" lol or expect to hear it around town that "so so" almost beat you hahaha so i dont do it often... i raced a ws6 stocker day before yesterday and didnt drop it... he stayed decently behind me... then after i shut down he comes again for a second try i dropped it into first, hit second and let off.... he quickly turned off way back there lol

No, I left it in 5th if on a highway roll once, but I knew the other guy and what his car could do, but I never really play around with the throttle. What if it looks slow, and it really isn't? You're all cocky and go half throttle and they hit full, and he is fast. Now you are behind the curve, doesn't sound like a good situation.

Looks kinda stupid fishtailin all over the dam place while some car puts two lenghts on you. Two young guys in a Cadi the other night gunned it off a light and I tried half 3/4 throttle to keep pace till I could pin it but they were pulling alittle so I mashed it and almost smacked there side.. lol

I gave up..
