Default does this sound about rite???cammed t/a 04 cobra

played around with my bro in laws cobra a few weeks ago...its an 04 has some exhaust work a heat exchanger cai and some free mods....
my car then 4000 stall bolt ons gears and a smallish cam.....

he was by himself me and another buddy in my car both of us weigh over 250lbs....and the cap was on my cutout...my catback is really restrictive 2.5"pipe flowmaster 40 series.....

from a slow roll my car pulled his a little couple cars or so up untill about 100
but then his slowly started pullin up but not all the way we shut down about 110 and he was within a car of mine....i thought it was about right i guess if i hadnt had the extra weight and cutout closed i think he wouldnt have pulled back up....

funny thing is i tore down my car to do heads and a custom cam and he gets a pulley and a dyno tune.....oh well i wish i wouldve had my bottle on haha

Cobras are really weak without a pulley, like an LS1 without a cam. Nice runs.

Aha. Where did you run? Lebanon or NED? If that was at Lebanon, I definitely I'm in trouble when we get together, but it sounds like I'm in trouble either way.

What did you ET?

et kinda sucked but i was expecting it too. 12.26 @ 121 with a 2.0 60ft. that was granny shifting leaving at 2k with 30 psi in the mt radails. just went up to get a few feeler passes in. i dont wanna blow the irs up just yet. and it was at ned. car should go mid 11's no problem if i push it. but right now i just wanna have some fun with it. dont wanna break anythin this early in the season.

Yep, youre either going mid 11's or to the shop for a new halfshaft.

Need to go with an 8.8 solid. Building mine this week. 31 spline Moser axles, Eaton diff, Motive 4.10's. That will handle your terminator

stock 03/04 cobra diff is just as strong as an eaton, its rebuildable, 31 spline and its 250 bucks cheaper. but ill also be running strange axles and frpp 3:55's

As bad as this is going to sound. I'm actually enjoying the lack of low end torque produced by the VQ. It's making it easier to launch out of the hole.

I can only IMAGINE how hard it is to launch a Terminator

I have a buddy with a 03 pullied cobra that runs dead even from a 50 roll with my 02 z-28 with a ss4000, TR Trak cam, LT, 3.73 . From a dig I own him. Both cars are on drag radials and he has a solid axle swap. I always thought I would win from a dig but was surprised how well I did from a roll.

Hey bro I gotta argue with you while the Cobra diff is a good piece it is in no way as strong as an Eaton. A cobra diff is simply a 31 spline from and F150. They stand up pretty well to abuse, Go over to the Mach registry and search. The real heavy hitters 600 RWHP and up all have Eatons, Auburns or spools. Ah what do you care your half shafts will go way before the diff.

disagree. unlike f150 diffs cobras have carbon clutch packs just like an eaton.

Ok I'm willing to admit when I'm wrong. I guess the Eaton is alot stronger than the F150 diff. I'm not so sure about the Cobra diff anymore.Good luck with whichever you go with. Think you have to go solid though when you start really turning up the wick.
