if u ask me. Racing in freeway traffic, is just asking for it. Better be careful.

Good kill, didn't 85 GTs have carbs and 200hp,I think 86 was the first year for FI.

Yes '86 was the first year for fuel injection. I bought an '86 GT in '95. Man that thing was a piece of junk. However, it did have over 160,000 miles before I had to rebuild the engine, but what a rustbucket. I think it was factory rated at 215 or 225 HP. I think the '85 was slightly less. I still like that bodystyle though and wouldn't mind picking one up again one of these days (only in good shape).

Yeah, the GTs turned fuelie in 86. Isn't it funny that the last 5.0, being the 1995 GT, only has 5 bhp more than the 85 GT? It seems like Ford slacked off in that ten year gap and GM got it's act together and put out a better quality product. Interesting.

1985 Ford Mustang GT = 210 bhp
1985 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 = 155 bhp (also carbed)

1995 Ford Mustang GT = 215 bhp
1995 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 = 275 bhp
