02 Z06 vs. SRT8 Charger Yesterday after work I pulled up to the line with my buddy in his SRT8. THere was a truck between us so he didn't know I was there...but I revvved him. So he knew someone was there
We both take off nice..not too hard. Then he looks over and sees its me and we both get on it. I loose traction through the rest of first and go almost sideways going into 2nd. But I had a car length on him. By the time I get going again we are even...with me maybe a half a car ahead. By the top of third I am a good 2 cars ahead and by 120 I am 3 cars ahead and pulling slowly.
My car has headers, intake and tune. 390 rwhp
His car has intake and corsa.

I think it was close since I kinda lost control going into 2nd. I pretty much had to let off the gas for a couple of seconds. One I got going I pulled away kinda smoothly.

Good kill! Those SRT8's are a handfull....The best beating i've givin' to one yet is only by 1-1 1/2 car lengths. If I had some traction out of the hole consistantly I could do alot better. Sounds like you have traction issue's yourself

good kill! my buddie had a run in with one in his ss, and he only has lid,m6,driver mod,tr55's,crane wires. we went from a 25 roll and we were barley pulling on him top of forth about128mph we had about 1 car mabe on him, it was alot closer than i thought. stock srt8

Nice run. I have a stock 01 Z06 that puts 351rwhp down and I have a friend with a Srt8 Charger with the 426 Stroker kit in it that puts 469rwhp down. Me and him have run many times with the same outcome everytime. Out the hole he will put his fender on me, and then when I can go full throttle(F1 Supercars are worthless!!!) I start to put 1/2 a car on him in each gear.

So you pull on a car with 469rwhp with you only haveing 351rwhp, and the op had 390rwhp and pulled that hard with a stock one. The doesnt make sense, your friends car if he used drag radials would be in the 11s

Tell him to get a tune, it makes a big difference on the srt-8's

He is about to do a lot more then a tune. He is doing heads, cam, tune, torque converter..etc etc. I can not remember all of the parts he ordered. Parts alone cost him 7k. He ordered them a while back..so this race was a good benchmark for him.
