Ate a Cobra

Ate a Cobra I was headed home from a friends B-day party this morning at around 0100 and on the way home I was trolling for something to play with yet had NO luck and was getting desperate (I even revved at a Honda with shiny plastic spinners
). Then about 4 miles from my exit a nice Silver, lowered Cobra with some nice meat (had to been 285's or more) pulls past me at a decent clip...I was doing 55mph (like I said I was trolling 
). So I speed up and pull up behind him and were doing 75 ish and he gives it some throttle and so I give him a few seconds before closing the distance rather quickly at maybe half throttle. By then we're doing 120, 
! But neither of us were pulling hard but just rolling into it. So he pulls down the window and gives me the thumbs up and I return with a few bellows of my train horn. I roll down my window and we agree to slow down and give it a pull in earnest. At about 60 I heard him down shift so I threw my shifter into 3rd and got ready.
I just waited for him and then I heard the Whine!! Mother Fugger was blown. At least now I knew he wasn't running a V-6 with Cobra badging! Surprised me since I didn't hear it earlier when we were half assing it to 120mph. So he and I both took off at around the same time and I downshifted and spun in 2nd gear pretty good for maybe 3 seconds until I shifted into third and hooked up. From 60-75 we were mostly even and by 3rd gear I had a length on him. At the top of 3rd gear we were doing 128 and I had maybe 2-2.5 lengths but he had stopped my pull at that point anyways...(I guess my aero dynamics started taking over! ) for some reason I couldn't shift into 4th so backed off and we both coasted down each exchanging 
I don't know the years that the cobra's got blowers 03-04 was it? It was definetly that model year give or take a year. I've raced a few mustang owners before but nobody was as cool as this guy who got pulled on by a full size truck.

bought my cousin's GT from him for cheap cause he was in financial trouble and traded straight-across for the Cobra a little while later.

You can make anything fast brother! A little ingenuity and money and you can make a school bus do wheelies...which people have done! Just cuz it's a big truck doesn't mean it's gotta haul manure from the pig farm!
