98 SS vs 0? Cobra
Well I had taken my mother out to dinner the other night and I stop a light a 0? something cobra mustang pulls up next to me. He starts hitting the gas as if he is preparing to launch (obviously a stick), I hear no supercharger so I knew this was not a Terminator. I look at my mom and she smiles and says "beat his ***" so I hold the brake and push the accelerator to launch(i have a A4), the light goes green and we both take off hard. I look out my drivers window and can hear the cobra behind me barking the tires with each shift, but he was no match for my SS. I got up to about 75mph and he was 3 cars behind me so I let out and like a typical car you beat he goes flying past me at full throttle. My mom is laughing aloud and when I brought her home she thanked me saying she wasn't sure what she enjoyed more: me taking her out or the race whipping the Cobra's ***. Also to add I did have my brother in the back of the car and we both weigh about 190, so I had two other people in my car and still worked that Cobra! Its times like this I thank myself for buying my SS over the Cobra I was looking at 5 years ago.

nice kill man... pretty much all N/A mustangs suck *****. My friends dad has a 69 boss 429, now that's a mustang! my mom always freaks out on me too, i hate driving with her, even in my DD.

Way to stick it to 'em and give maw an early Mother's Day surprise.
I'll never forget the night I brought mine home, I let my mom drive it. She stomped it good up until about 45 on our quiet little street

Thanks for the kind replies.. one thing I should add is that my mom is not very old, she is in her mid 50's and has been around racing for years with my father. When I was about 6 she had a 6.6 Trans Am with a shaker hood and the bird on the hood, we had this car for many years till our family grew and my dad traded it in for a fully loaded new van (to this day he still regrets trading it in). Today she still rides on the motorcycle with my dad and still enjoys going to racing events.

I wish my mom was into racing. She bought herself a nice 01 vette but never steps on it, wont even step on it driving my car when I want to hear what it sounds like on a drive by. I can't even imagine what she would do if I tried to race someone with her in the car.

My mom is the same way as all the careful and scared moms here. I think I'd feel bad anyway racing with a loved one in the car. If I was alone, it'd be on like donkey kong!
Non the less good kill. Maybe that rookie will think twice before stepping up to an LS1.
