Default ws6 as fast as stock cobra

On my way home from woodward ave. last night I encountered a red 03/04 cobra seemed stock except for exhaust but def heard the blower doubt he had a smaller pulley tho judging by how it ran anyways idk much about it we played from a 45 roll then a 20 mph roll from the 45 roll i was in 2nd gear he jumped a half car but then I started pulling after we both hit 3rd as I started creeping in on him naturally he let off
so we go though a turn around and go from a 1st gear roll about 15-20 mph again he starts pulling i figure hes gonna waste me but the pull stopped at about half a car and i hit 2nd and by the time we hit 3rd we were dead even we both backed out before we hit 4th tho due to we were going 80-100 in a 35 lol

whats the deal I thought these blown cobras wasted everything i was expecting to get blown away and here is my almost stock ws6 running side by side with this guy my only mods are in my sig I mean i guess the gear helps but running dead even with a supercharged stang dosnt make sense can anyone tell me if thats normal for a stock cobra or was it just a terd ??

Drivermod is the one that counts... Though it should have been a very different race.

Yes, something isn't adding up. Your gears do help, but those mods don't get you into mid 12's at 112 mph or so. His car fucked up, or he can't drive for **** me thinks. But anything can happen on the streets, so good kill

Your gears helped, but he should have pulled you.

Sounds like a catback only Cobra, which doesnt do much of anything on a bone stock Cobra. I remember when my buddy added just a CAI on his catback only 04 it made a noticeable SOTP difference.

Nice kill, sounds like you just have a strong running bolt on LS1. Not all that hard to believe IMO.

Gears is what the difference as here. When I first had my 408 built for my SS I ran a lid and geared Z28 and he was neck and neck with me. I got a real tune later and jumped from 385 rwhp to 450 rwhp but it shows that a stock LS1 with gears can run with a stock Cobra as my 408 was making a little more than a stock Cobra would normally make and it was lighter.

Even a catback Cobra should have taken you with no issues. Seeing as how I ran many geared/full exhaust LS1s and beat them all with my cat-back and handheld tune only car.

There is a GT500 that some chick drives here and she has been beaten by high 14 second cars. I won't race her because I'm worried her lack of skills will get her killed.

I'd show her how to drive in more ways than one if you know what I mean

+1.

The majority of stock cobras are low 13 second cars. Good drivers see 12's, really good drivers get solidly in the 12's. I never ran my Cobra stock, but when I test drove it the Cobra felt about as fast as the WS6 I was trading in (4.10's, exhaust, whisper lid). I went 12.9 @ 110 with it the WS6 and was only marginally competent at rowing gears at the time.

With the OP's mods, I'd say most definitely a driver's race (the OP was apparently the better driver).

Nice Kill!

i kinda figured it was a drivers race i can rip gears pretty good i mean not the best but I hold my own. as for the cobra he didnt seem amazing at driving but he was no granny. Either way it was fun running with such a nice car its always fun when you underestimate yourself and end up doing really good

As for my 3:90 gears the shop that installed them did a new carrier assembly and superior axles in my car along with the gears but i absolutley love them it made a huge difference over the stock 3:42. (best mod i did so far) I was debating doing 4:10 but I hear from some that its to much and others that its perfect and I didnt know if a 3:73 would be that noticable over stock so I went right in the middle and to me it feels perfect

thanks for your input guys

You must have a strong running car. I can honestly say when my WS6 had a 12 bolt rear w/ 373s, full exhaust, lid, LS6 intake with a stock tune....I'd wreck my buddy's 04 Cobra when his only mod was a Borla Stinger catback. His Cobra felt like a high 12 sec car around 110-111mph, I drove it from MO to NJ so I had some seat time in it to say the least.

Put on a smaller blower pulley, cai, exhaust and a tune and the potential comes out...they ARE sick cars, just restricted in stock form like most cars.
