My z06 vs some viper
#43
Some one go race this guys 390 rwhp SAE C5Z06 with a real 430 rwhp car..
It's not that easy to get a c5Z06 to 430 rwhp..Yea they start out a 345 rwhp because of the LS6 heads/cam...But you need full bolt ons a cam plus tune to hit that number...
You run a Fbody with an actual 430 rwhp SAE and prepare to collect a "L"...
Nice kill on the 14 year old gen 1 Viper though..Not badd..Not badd

A C5Z with a ported 90/90(92/92), UD pulley, full catless exhaust with quality LTs, electric water pump and a helluva tune could squeak out 410-415rwhp (Bench racing FTL haha). Something tells me this C5Z doesn't have stock heads.... A C5z with the stock cam and a set of heads can EASILY make 430whp

Dosent bother me one bit...If a Lambo guy came to the viper board with stories of killing Vipers and then wrecking the Lambo while street racing we'd all clown him to...
So your not ruffling any feathers guys...I think it's funny
Now to the C5Z06..If he has head work then thats a totally differant animal..And 430 rwhp is a sinch..
But the vid says bolt on Z06 VS bolt on Viper..Kinda misleading vid when theirs head work involved dont cha think???? So yea with the head work and a true 430 rwhp with that M12 trannie and the C5Z06's light weight of 3130 pounds ( Vs the 2008 Z06's 3300 pounds)..That C5Z06 should be a beaste trappin mid 120's..
Again good kill OP..
And BTW I dont have anything for yea currently ( although I would have LOVED to run you in the 480 rwhp SRT10)..
But my current ride has only yielded a best trapp of 113 mph with the 5 psi supercharger...Havent tried the 85 wet shot since it isnt properly tuned as of yet..
So I wouldnt even be worth lining up against Bro...To easy a kill for ya

My best was a 13.2 at 113 mph..off a 2.16 60 ft full tank of gas..I just couldnt hook at all. A few days later I found out how to adjust the rock hard suspension..And Ill be trying again once all the VOG ( volcano stuff that looks like Fog) clears up...
My buddies stock 2005 NSX ran a 13.2 at 106 mph at the same location with the same testing gear off a 1.93 60 ft..
So yea like I said a 113 mph trapping car isnt even worth mentioning a race against, after the 10 pound pully AEM and water to air interkooler putting me in the 120-125 mph range without the NOS Ill be up to my usual **** talking again. For now I am humbled

Your testing gear means nothing unless you validate it with TRACK times

I was almost excited to read, then I saw it was a 1994 Vipeer. Also why is the MR2 the featured car in your sig? Nice song and video though.

It was eighter dead on or 1.5 tenths or 1.5 mph off..
for example my FX2 would flash a 12.93 at 110.90 and 30 seconds later I would roll around and pick up my time slip showing 12.87 at 110.65...It is a VERY acurate device..
but I could sometimes do better with it on the street than at the track...On the street I would do 10-20 runs in a night while testing a new set up...My best ever on the street with my final C5 H/C set up was a 12.67 at 112 mph..
The best I mustered at the actual drag strip with the final C5 H/C set up was a 12.80 at 110.83 ( but I only had 3 chances to run that number vs the 10-20 chances to run on the street with the FX2 busting many 12.8's and 12.9's before finally busting the 12.67)
So I have validated it..As far as magazine ricer...Hell if I ever did buy a crappy Cobra or be able to afford a FGT then I would have ran through most of the domestics that matter...My heart will always belong to domestics..An NSX is the only Jap car I would ever own period
