05 Vette vert auto vs 99 Z28
My good friend has a 05 Vette vert auto with the sport paddle shift. I was thinking of challenging him to a fun run from a dig and a 60 mph roll, but not sure if I have the beans to beat a C6 just yet. My mods are in my sig.

The c6 vert. auto is going to run about a 12.5
You should have him from a dig assuming you can do well on the street or go to a track.
From a 60 roll you might be better off if he races with his top down.
He's definately making more power than you, and the vertible weighs 3199 according to GM.
That being said, the convertible also traps somewhere around 112 mph. So he should have you from a 60 roll, especially with the gearing in that 6l80e
Race him though and post it, it should be cool.

I figure from a roll he'll get me, but just wanted to have a good showing before he pulls me. I've raced him before at the track when he owned a 00 Vette vert, and it was no contest. My 12.50's to his 13.80's, but that was his C5.

That was my friend's old car doing those times, and it was all on stock street tires and his first time at the track. His C5 was a vert auto, which I hear had the 2.73 gears and such. I was doing 13.70's with my Z28 way back when it had 2.73's, and absolutely stock everything, including the air filter. I see C5's all the time at the track on street tires doing 13's, especially if they're autos. The C5 verts I hear are quite heavy too compared to a T-top one. Anything is possible at the track. I've been dynoed at only 300 RWHP with the converter unlocked, and I can do mid 12's all day long with stock internals and 143K on the clock.

It's possible to reach high 13's in a C5 if it's a 2.73 geared auto vert and you have a average launch. Or course they're capable of much better than that but I've seen them in the high 13's as well.
