That was a good run... a good break in makes a world of a difference. That IS300 is still a really nice car though

Nice kill.
I'm pretty sick of the 2JZs hype (a little bit, not much though).
Plus I think the IS300 is pretty damn fugly.
He didn't have any changes since the first race though? The difference seems more than marginal.

Man, Z06s sound so good! There aren't many cars that sound that good right from the factory. Good races.

Very nice posts, the 2j in a IS300 is no joke for sure.

I am thinking, however, there had to have been at least a few mods done to the Z to make THAT much difference.

(I know breaking in an engine correctly can make an improvement, but that looked like 50whp+)

Either way, entertaining other then feeling drunk while watching it.

LOL dont know much about LSx motors do you?? The break in alone is indeed worth that much of a difference.

Case in point my 06 GTO went a best of 14.1 @ 103 mph with 500 miles on it. At only about 7000 miles and still stock it went 13.4 @ 107 mph with a 2.2 60.

While the break-in period is VERY important on those motors, do you not think necro that a substantial part of that difference might have been the extra driving experience you got with the car during those 6500 miles, as well as possibly different weather/conditions at the track?

Dont forget the driver mod and I''m very sure the Z is still stock I know the owner he is tuning the car this week and adding Intake the car will gain
20-25rwhp for sure the tune that came from the factory in Z is pure crap.

No not really. If you would look at my trap speeds that would tell you. LSx motors usually dont run all that great until around 10,000 miles. When I took the car oof of the lot it wouldnt even break the tires lose from a slow 1st gear roll, now it does. Its a huge difference from when I first bought it. Every LSx car I have owned has been this way.

Yeah, but I refuse to believe you could drive the car as well with 500 miles on it as you could with 7,000 miles on it. That has a big effect on trapspeed as well.
