So you got sucked into racing some young punk in a slow GTO. They were probably laughing because passing with the tires smoking is overkill IMO.

Ill add my own story thats real similar here. My friend had a 1997 C5 A4 Vette that was bone stock. I had a 2002 SS Camaro that had a cam, headers and a 170 shot. When I got the nitrous hooked up I was telling him how much of a difference it made. Well we went out to the highway and went from a slow roll in second with me spraying. I instantly lit the tires up similarly to what the original story here is but I didnt pull on him at all, we were side by side. When I finally got traction I yanked his *** but not while I was spinning. I was putting down a good 250 more rwhp than him.

Yep...I recognized his post for what it was. That's why I chose his post for a response. I enjoy sarcasm on the interweb. It's usually more interesting than reading posts from all the guys who take everything too seriously.

as do all 98+ z/28's, nothin special about the 2002 z (not accounting for DA, or traction)

you really havent been paying attention then. everytime a thread is posted with a car in the title every one that owns that car joins the thread and automatically calls BS. Though this story is hard to read, full of grammar mistakes, and doesnt logically make sense i believe him. I believe him mostly because i think he is to stupid to make any story, so good kill op anyways.

'01 and '02 have the LS6 intake as well, which does help. (if i'm mistaken please correct me)

It helps, but if I'm not mistaken the 1/4 mile record for a stock F-body was with a '98.

True it does help, but 98-00 also have a bigger stock cam. there is some difference in speed with 01-02, but not nearly enough to notice.

thats interesting, guess ya learn somethin new every day. I would have figured the 345 hp slp 35th anniversary edition would be the record holder. (then again those numbers, like all the other fbody numbers, are not accurate) The only diff would be with exhaust, and intake.

An LS1 is an LS1. They all produce the same amount of power be it in a Goat, Corvette, or FBody.
