Default '00 T/A WS6 vs. '93 Civic Coupe *surprise*

One of my good friends just finished a his k20 project in his coupe, and we were headed back home @ the same time from a party. It has bolt-ons, and a rough basemap, and a laundry list of suspension modifications. We hit the e-way, and got next to each other. We were cruising at about 70-75mph, and he downshifts into 4th, he might have had room for 3rd but hes not accustomed to the 6spd gearbox yet..

Still didnt matter, he even waited for my trans to kick down and roll before he laid into it. He pulled a good 3 cars on me HARD, and when it seemed that my car got back into the powerband I kept ground, and possibly might have reeled him in, but we were coming onto traffic...so who knows. All I know is, his car sounds like a damn chainsaw, lol!!! Its awesome, and Im glad he got his project wrapped up. BTW, we're running again when I get MY intake manifold and headers on, and by then, we'll both be tuned.

Here is his coupe :

Here is my car :

That's a hell of a car he's thrown together there. I'm diggin the plain Jane wrapper and no nonsense demeanor.

I've got to say.. That 'bird looks bad as hell with the two-tone treatment

I would agree IF he painted the hood in the body color.

The K20 is actually a pretty good motor.

I am interested in how much the civic weighs. He is probably making around 200-220whp with those bolt ons.

At least his first mod wasn't a big *** wing lol

Good death... that car probably weighs around 2400-2500lbs or so, and looks rather clean IMO. It's good to see he went the all-business route. I'm sure he's gonna surprise quite a few people. And yeah, your T/A looks NICE with the two-tone paint job. Looks way better on Trans Ams than it does on Z/28s

Ill tell him yall like it, its really clean. Hes the second owner too.

I used to have 2 Integras that had the same JDM theme going on... Theres no use in doing all that ricer garbage, so we never got into it, and on top of that bodykits and big *** non functional spoilers on a street car are GAY.

BTW, its N/A, and 100% stock from the valve cover to the oil pan. He just has bolt-ons, but he has yet to get it tuned via Hondata K-Pro. The car weighs around 2300lbs, almost 2500lbs with him in it. Its a beast for sure. I drove it around all the time when it had a euro-spec GSR in it(b18c) and it pulled hard. It had Type-R cams and lightened valvetrain to go along with it, but point being, its one of the more fun cars I've driven. Its come a long way from being a bone stock beater from our high school days, haha.

hes some more pics of it :

I wish yall thought of all Hondas to look like this Those damn rice-***** are giving my peoples a bad name, hahaha.

The K20's are good motors. A friend of mine local has a built K24 swapped into a 92 Civic HB. Car weighs maybe 2000lbs with him in it and has made a touch over 300whp on a DJ. NA! Don't laugh guys, that's pretty damn impressive on a NA 4 banger. The piston tops look like this --> ^^ LOL. High compression motor and fully built. It went high 10's last year trapping 124mph. Surprises alot of people.

I have a hard time believing 10's from 300 horsepower but maybe I'm wrong. Btw op your friends car is very tastefully done and you've got nothing to be ashamed of with that little pull yall did

I hope you're NOT going to say on pump gas, because then I also will NOT believe you.
300 to the wheels on those (or ANY < 2.5 liter, NA 4 banger) is an all-out, high strung RACE engine!!

There is a guy here with a built K24 that went 11.3 or 11.2 at around 117 with less then 250 wheel all motor.

I keep up with the Honda stuff still, just becuase I plan on getting another, and yes, nearly 300whp NA can be done on pump gas with a good tuner. When I say nearly, I mean 287whp. Thats the highest Ive seen on PUMP.

Thanks for the compliments guys, and no, Im not ashamed at all. I expected him to pull me a good bit, but from a dig, Id get him good out the hole, but he would end up edging me out, more than likely. Hes got some 22" MT slicks that he can use when the time calls..Im just anxious to see what itll do then.

Like I said, Ive got some things to do that might even the playing field some

Not sure. I will have to ask him. Pretty sure it's much higher than 93oct. I know he runs some TORCO additive with whatever fuel he uses. Car has gone 10.80's and cuts 1.5 60 foots on slicks. Wish I had a video.

What does it matter anyway? The really fast NA C5 over here used to always run on BP 93. High strung? Not sure I will agree with what you define as "high strung" or a race engine. It's a built motor to handle the abuse just like any other. He races it competitively in the BOTI/IFO style NA street classes. Hondas have one of the best head cylinders out there so the VE is excellent. Let's leave it at that. He races it competitively in the BOTI/IFO style NA street classes and does well.

You must have missed where I posted it's weight. F=ma
Traction is not an issue for ET. See post above.

Never under estimate those cars they are very light. A friend of mine has a b16 motor with a decent sized turbo on a rusty stripped down 89 hatch. I get pulled by a car or two everytime we run on the highway.
