Default Beating up on a 94-98 GT

I was on my way to work two weeks ago and I pulled up behind this Mustang GT with the 94-98 body style and I wasn't thinking to much about it until I heard the squeeling of his tires and I was decided not to race so we kept going he was hauling *** and I caught up to him at the next light and he was turning left (where I was going) so I pulled in behind him once again and we turned left on to this open highway and as expected he once again floors it so I decided had enough of this so I let him get 4 cars on me then I gunned it. I pulled past him at about 95 mph and then got in front of him to let him know it was over. I finally let off at 110 but the whole race was over pretty quick.

I think it had headers, cam, and exhaust.

He stayed behind me the rest of the night

haha nice

I really hate those cars...other than sounding nice they have nothing going for them

slow and among the ugliest mustangs ever built, everything about the design of them screams "high school girl" car to me

I raced a 96GT once, I put it to the floor from a dig an spun, and spun, and spun...stayed with him ROASTING the tires...caught second and it LITERALLY looked like he hit the brakes.

Yes he was racing cuz it was a buddy. He has a 04 Cobra now.

To each his own... I like the SN95 bodystyle once you do a few choice mods like a nice set of wheels and a 2" drop. Especially the Cobras . Good and expected kill OP, but how do you know it was cammed?

Sounded like it. The timing was definitely not stock. My Friend owns a 97 Mustang GT with just exhaust and I know what the timing of these cars are. It was a mild cam at best, maybe no better than a 500 lift but it was definitely there

Could of just had a damn vacuum leak and sounded like it was lopin'.

My second car was a '95 Mustang GT. I miss the hell out of that car, even with my LS1. I beat the hell out of it on a daily basis and it never skipped a beat. I've got a rebuild planned for ol' White Trash. I'm thinking '95 Cobra R clone with Jongbloed rolling stock and a carb'd 351W.

Good kill though. Alot of fellows get cocky before they really have anything to run with. Those old SN-95's are awesome starting points, especially the pushroders.

if i had one in that body style it'd have to be a 94 5.0 and i'd spray the Fu(K out of it

on a side note....I know the 5.0 came with forged internals some years, did it come with them in 94?

Not forged internals, just forged pistons... and that stopped in '93.

87-92 were forged rotating assemblies with trw pistons. 93-95 were not forged.

I dont particually mind them, almost bought one (6 cylinder) until I found that a formula LS1 that was withing my DD driver budget

I cant stand the fox bodies (82-93?) though, way too much like a normal passenger coupe. Nothing sporty about it. Growing up loving mustangs I didnt even know that these were anything but normal passenger cars till my friend bought one and I was like "thats a sports car? thats a mustang?!"

BTW no it wasnt the Fox body that soured me on mustangs, it was getting to ride in my dad's 94 Formula and was like this is awesome then I rode in my aunt's 94 GT and I was like this is gay! Been a GM man even since.

Plus having a honda in displacement over those gay 4.6s pushed me even further toward the light. No replacement for displacement

haha, I don't mind foxes done right

I really like the 99-04 style though, they look like a stealth bomber

the sn95 are just too rounded off and girly looking for me, I have seen 2-3 that looked ok, but doing up a 99up the same way would still look a million times better

*shrugs*
