Default My 02' TA VS Pontiac G8 GT

Came up on one of these coming in to Houston on 59 Sunday going around 75mph. Went by him and he did nothing until his front bumper was at my rear bumper. I wasn't really paying attention and see him go by me and then threw into third to see what he had. That car is fast......took me to 120 to catch him.

I slowed down again to around 70 and he let me go past him again. I put it into third and see him nail it with his front bumper at my rear again....I let him get to my passenger door and hit the gas. He jumped me and still took me until 110 or so before I was pulling by him.

I am running 387 to the tires and was really impressed by that car. I am considering trading in my Wife's SUV for one of those....

That car is not weak by any means so you can't just let him start his pull and wait till he's by your door, it will hard to catch up for sure if he already has 15-20mph on you by the time you hit it!

He would not go even and always waited until he was behind me. I have located a used one here in Houston and will be going to look at it tonight.

Read specs on the car and is rated 13.8 1/4 stock but with a tune only the car was doing 13.1 at 106. Not bad for a 3900 pound car.

I am just sitting here thinking...no other mods except for a tune a a 100 shot of juice. All the sudden this is a Corvette killer.....sounding better all the time.

Tune Time Performance, a speed shop near me, has one running a 125 shot and a tune only, they went through the lights with a 12.00. Ran a 13.1 tune only, so yeah they are mean *************.

Wow, that's impressive. I've seen a bunch around. Now I'll have see if I can find someone who wants to run one, especially when the GXP comes out.

13.5@105 i think by C&D stock. might have been road and track one or the other.

and i can see just a tune netting it bottom 13's if not 12s.

wonder what a converter would do to that bad boy.

Very nice and fast cars! If I had to have only one car (meaning it'd be my daily driver/fun car) I'd get a G8.

Went and looked at a used one last night that had 4000 miles on it. The car already had some exhaust work done but looked stock other than that. My wife drove it and it really does drive nicely. We are holding out for a white one as the one we drove was black on black.

Is that differential that much for such a short distance? I would have thought a 387rwhp car would catch it and walk it faster than that. I'm guessing it had a tune.
