C6 vs cammed WS6
I work with a guy with a really nice cammed '02 WS6 and we **** talk almost daily. We went to the track a few months ago and he beat me by .2 with him on DRs and me on run flats. He was going to follow me home last night to borrow some of my tools to work on his car so we had a few good races. We got next to each other at a red light and I could hear him stalling his car out so I knew he was going to try to launch out on me. Well, stalling out on street tires doesnt work the best so he SMOKED the tires and I raped him pretty bad up to 65MPH and I just shut down.
The 2nd run was from a 35MPH roll. I let him hit it 1st and he jumped out about 1/2 a car before I stopped his pull. By 85MPH I was about even with him and by 110MPH I was 1/2 to 3/4 in front.
The last run was from an 80MPH roll and he didnt fair out very well. I honked it off and we hit it at about the exact same time. I pulled pretty hard all the way up to the top of 4th (dont know the speed) and I shut down.
It was a good time and I got my bragging rights back. ha ha

Nice runs. What is his setup and what does he trap at?
I'm asking because I know of plenty cammed LS1's that trap well above 115mph with just a cam. So it should've been a little closer IMO, but then again auto's are not made for roll racing.

I'm not sure what his exact set-up is bro. It's full bolt ons and a good sized cam. His problem is his tune. He recently moven to Tucson AZ (1600ft) from San Diago (100ft). If he got a new tune I think the race would be much closer.
My 115 was not my best trap speed....I've actually gone 117 up in Phoenix but my 60ft sucked ***** so my ET was crap. I'm sure there is a lot more in my car but I just dont have the time to go to the track to practice. I've only been to the strip 3 times.
