From a roll he's going to take you. Depending on how good of a driver you are and what kind of tires you have, you might be able to take him off the line and hopefully hold him off.

If you have time on your hands do the free mods on this site you could pick up another 10 horsepower at least: http://www.installuniversity.com/ins...sity/index.htm

They will really help also pull your spare tire out to save some weight. I think you will be able to take him but from a high roll he might start to pull on you at the end.

i would not port the maf but i will try to give you a rundown from what i have seen:
descreen maf: 2-3 horsepower
egr mod: 2-3 horsepower
ported tb with bumpstop mod: 5-8 horsepower
Free ram air: you get more the faster you go
Tb bypass (you can just grap a new hose at a local store for two bucks): like one horsepower
Fernco mod: get fernco tubing from home depot and make your won smooth bellow that goes inbetween your tb and maf maybe a horsepower or two.

You could do all of those mods today in about 5 hours or so if you wanted and i guerentee you would see a nice gain. you can also pull your back seats (a couple of bolts), floor mats and anything that will add extra weight.

Uhhhh, no?

Free mods are something to do if you have lots of time to waste, and the MOST you would see is maybe 5 rwhp from ALL of that ****.

People who de-screen their MAFs make me laugh...

At any rate, you can do the free mods, and I won't argue that they should make more power, but they are overrated to put in nicely.

To not put it not nicely, get some cash and do some real power adding. If the race is tonight, and you **** something up whilst doing a freemod, that would look pretty stupid as well.

EDIT: FRA is easiest, just do a bit of cutting

They did an article in some mag a long time ago about free mods, they only did a few of them and picked up 10whp and some good ET gains too. I'd say do the free ram air and the EGR mod for sure, that thing takes up like half your throttle body, it's horrible. Ported throttle body is a very good one too.

Before I had headers I raced one up here from a roll and barely pulled on him, at my elevation though, turbo cars have an advantage because they don't lose as much hp to the elevation as n/a cars. I'd say you shouldn't have a problem beating him.

yea i dunno gotta road and track mag and they say...
07 bmw- 335i coupe I-6tt 300hp 300lb.ft. 4.8secs 60mph 11.9secs 100mph
13.4 1/4 mile @ 105.1mph.

before my tranny went out i ran it at the track and ran 9.03 @ 81mph in the 1/8th. any equations to figure it up it seems close.

lol, lots of time to waste

How could all those mods not give him 5 horsepower? There is dyno proof of some guys gaining 10+ horsepower from the ported tb alone. I also have sponsors say that egr mod is good for 3 horsepower and so is the descreened maf.

and to respond to your earlier question the increased line pressure helps with the firmness of shifting with an a4

I've heard that you can multiply it by 1.5 or 1.54 or something similar to get a rough idea of your 1/4 ET. so somewhere between a 13.5-13.9. It's probably going to depend on how well he can drive.
