let the flameing begin ive beat two of these cars but here is a story about this one cause it was lil funny
anyways me and a couple friends was hanging out talking to each other and this guy we all know pulls up we started talkin he has had this gt for about 6 months now and cant keep up with payments so its going to go back but hasnt yet and its been 3 months. so he wants to race i said sure cause i was pretty sure i could take him anyways then right before we pull out he asked if my car was a ls1 i said no and he acted like he had it in the bag. we go from about a 15mph roll and i told him to take the jump just because i hate when i race someone and win and they go on saying how i got the jump and everything. so it took 1st gear to reel him back in then 2nd i had him by about half a car then in 3rd is when i pulled on him hard by 120 he was about a car and a half behind my bumper mybe a lil more maybe a lil less rear view mirror view

was it stock? auto or 5spd? good kill, i raced a stock auto on the freeway from 65 it was real ugly for him. i thought you would of pulled more with 312whp.(if hes stock)

Good kill on a bone stock 07.If he was tuned it would be a good race.The stock tune on the Gt's suck.I have owned 2 Lt1's both speed density auto and 6 speed.Had a chip on the auto went13.5 at 102,my tuned auto 07 stang has gone 13.1 at 106 with 331 gears it was a dog stock and yes it is still slow but not bad for a daily driver with 22 mpg.Doesn't mind going through a little water when it rains ,unlike my Lt1.

ya i would have pulled more on him if i kept going, given that he had a car length on me before i went and it just got done raining. so little traction problem thru couple gears. no excuses though. he had his traction control on that actully seemed to help him. he may of had more but intake is all i know of.

new stangs are slow. i was beating them by 2-3 lengths when i was stock. and to my knowledge nothing has been changed from 05 to 07 for them? i just grow tired of the of mine runs 13 flat rage with just a tune. and yet i watch those cars personally run 13.4 to 13.7 with intake,exhaust,gears. and without driver error. 2.0 60ft no missed shifts or late shifts ect.

well ive seen one before with intake and nitto's run a 13.20, but ever other ive seen is at a 1/8 mile track running mid 9's my truck runs low 9's. but guess some are slow then you got some fast i dunno

I think stock the 5 speed GT's can run like a 13.9. Not to impressive. Ford needs to put some bigger engines in their cars.

Um... in '99-'04 cars, sure. Where have you been? Even MAGAZINES run mid 13s in the new GTs. Even the automatics.

Loveracing

I have a story that contradicts yours, not that yours is false because you've seen what you've seen. I've never had a problem with stock or mildly modded LS1's. 2 to 3 lengths would never happen to me in a stock LSx, even when i was bone stock. On the highway, maybe, but I don't run there so maybe that's where the car lengths come into play. In the quarter? Maybe a stock Termie would beat me by that margin, but not a stock LS1. When I first got the car, I thought I was about to get clobbered when I lined up against a camaro at the track, because I had been tuning in on the forum chat, where the truth gets stretched ALOT. Ford guys do it, GM guys do it, EVO/STI guys do it. The guy in the camaro told me he had an auto with 3:73's and an intake. We raced and I got him once, he got me the second time. I raced another camaro the week afterwards after my 4.10's were put in and had me by a bumper at the start and I got him by about 2 cars in the end. I was surprised. Drivers, maybe, but 3 cars? Not happening. I went 2-1 vs the LS1 stock(they needed drivers), and i'm 2-0 against the LS2 with my mods now(Makes no difference who drives). With a tune and DR's, an S197 has been run 12.80 where I got my tune. I think it's pretty pathetic that some run mid 13's in these cars with 4.10's/tune/exhaust unless they are running high altitude. I would love to run into you in your close to stock Ls1 and have you think you would get me by 3 cars.
