Roush 427 gets the business!
Flame on but I'm posting it anyway.
Was out last night and wasted a Roush 427 Mustang with bad/new driver mod. We took off from about 5 mph and were bumper to bumper until he shifted to 2nd and then I put a couple cars on him he got back to within 1 car and I heard the SC start whining and then he shifted too early and I put about another 3 cars on him and by the time I hit 100 I had a good 5 cars on him.
He pulled up at the next light and asked me "WTF you got in that thing?" lol! I told him my mods and he seemed surprised. The guy in the passnger seat laughed like he didn't believe me. His car still had temporary tags on it and he said he just got it and it showed in the way he drove. It was still fun though taking him out though.
He was catching me in 2nd and I thought he was going to go by me but he hit third too early and then I was just gone after that
At the next light after that guy in a GMC pick-up came up and said he saw the whole thing and he was laughing. He said he used to have a 96 Z that ran low 12's and a 00 SS and I just made him want to get one again. Also said he was suprised how quiet my car was at idle compared to what it sounded like at WOT. Said it sounded awesome and asked me what exhaust I was running.

For a new driver in a brand new car and not being used to it, it is very likely at that moment he doesn't have the best abilities in a car like that, plus those 427r's aren't all that impressive for a charged 4.6, and coupled with the bad stock gearing, that guy was just not driving it to it's full potential, and i think we all know that. Either way, good kill and if that car was driven to it's full likeliness i think there may have been a little bit different of a outcome.

No bottle and I'm not FOS.
My brother and dad used to race a lot and they had LS1's but mostly raced GN's and FWIW they think mine runs really strong for a stock car if that makes you feel any better.
They wanted me to take it to the track or have it dynoed because they didn't believe it's stock and figured if it was it would run a great time for having 2.73's. I consistently beat the last GN my dad had and he ran a best time of 12.90 with slicks on but I raced him when he had street tires on.
So after them bugging me I went and talked to the guy I got the car from, a friend who worked at a dealer and he knew the original owner and had all the service records, and he said it was all stock as far as they knew. Then I remembered when I got the title it was still in the original owner's name so I found the phone number listed in the phone book and I called him about it. He said he had other LS1's as well and he said it definitely was a factory freak. He said it ran much stronger than all the other one's he had and he said he had 4 all together, his wife and son had them at the same time and he also had an SS. Mine was the last one he kept because he said it was the fastest. It was originally his sons and when his son went to college he took the car and after driving it some he got rid of the SS and kept it for himself. He eventually traded it in on a new Vette. He also said he never had any of them to the track or on a dyno and kept them all stock down to the paper filter.
I've also raced some cars around here that I know have ran 12.7's and I've beat them from a roll but I never raced any of them from a dig. Honestly the only car that I've ever raced from a dig that I KNOW ran 12's was my dad's GN and like I said I consistently beat him sometimes by 3 or 4 cars to 100. His GN wasn't real consistent though. His times varied a lot everytime he went to the track. I lost to a guy from a dig that said he ran 12.5's and he beat me pretty good. He was out about 4 or 5 cars before I even got going.
My dad and brother say they think they could run a 12.8 in it and they know their stuff pretty well. My dad had 7 different GN's and 3 LS1's and one GN dynoed at 750HP The guy he sold it to ran a 10.03 in it. My brother also had 4GN's and 3 lS1's and drove many others.
Edit: talked to my brother and he said they think it would run 12.8 if I had a stall in it, we were talking about that at the time when they said it could run a 12.8. Sorry an honest mistake. He said I might hit low 13's on a good day the way my car is now. Said my Dad's GN that I was beating usually ran low 13's but did have a best of 12.90.

12.8 in a virtually stock A4 w/2.73's in Ohio?????? My 02 ss 6m stock went 12.8 with drs only....and I can dirve it near perfect. Since the age of these super computers building everything, there is no such thing as factory freaks as were in the 60's. I believe that you beat him....nice kill. Your car is 13.3 at best stock in Ohio. Bring it to a track and test it out...then mod.
