Walked a '05 Honda CBR 600 RR
My buddy at work has needed some help with a leaking Power Steering hose on his SS, so he took his CBR to work today. So the plan was to follow him on his bike... now to the good part
We made a left turn on to a main open street (Beach Bvld) and we both gunned it like mad men.
I thought he would have had me when we both straightened, but to my surprise, 1st to 2nd i was about 2 bumpers away from him! by 3rd, i had pulled and i walked him . We slowed down and he started talking **** saying he was already on 4th by the time he turned
Eventually we both end up on a red light again and gun it. Unfortunately I spun out for about half a second but i was able to catch up at 2nd gear and at about 70mph (?) I had just started to pull ahead slowly when i saw his break lights come on and then i saw we were somewhat getting close to the cars at the next light.
His excuse this time was that if he gunned it too much, he would have wheeled, which is understandable. At the same time, if i didnt spin out, i would have had him ez.
either way, it was the sickest feeling to beat a bike. His bike is all stock, but either way, i expected to lose and was far from that

that stock bike is not going to wheely by gunning it to much. a may feel like it but it won't

"gunning it" from the stop light not rolling away from a stop light like normal then a stock 600 will stand striaght up very easily... but if you're already moving and pin it the front won't come up, just get light enough to start skiming the road sweet kill but i think you beat the rider not the bike...

A newer stock 600 will power wheelie in first, if you really want it to. But it won't wheelie if your tucking and have your weight forward. Definitely beat the rider, not the bike. Good kill nonetheless

i'll post it in here too, 'cause this is a prime example of a vette vs r6 in the daylight!
this vette runs 6.8@104 in the 1/8th and baaarely pulls the new r6

Sounds like your buddy is a beginner or doesn't race his bike at all since he has no idea on the power delivery. 1st gear will wheelie and I understand he would let off, but it won't come over if he distributes his weight. Squid?

He could've rolled out to 10 MPH, hammered it, and still smoked you.
I have a stock 05 CBR600RR and an 00 WS6 (lid, LTs, duals, JAAM Ram Air, K&N) and they're not even close. Either he was short shifting like crazy or not ripping the throttle. Regardless, nice kill on the rider.
I really don't understand how there's so much rider error with bikes. It takes more skill to drive a 6-speed car than a 6-speed bike, in my opinion. Short hand movements vs. getting both feet and your right hand to all work together... plus, I've never missed a shift on the bike. Can't say the same for the car.

Now for missing a shift, I've done that before. I've hit nuetral going from 1st to 2nd several times. Did it once on the back tire, it hurt. Mashed my nuts on the gas tank when it came down.
