Default 99 trans am vs 08 vette/

Both cars are six speeds but the vette is bone stock. My car is your usual bolt on trans am(mods in sig). Ok so my brother was driving the vette and we were heading out to line them up. We hit some open road...i mean it was perfect, but Johnny Law had to show up and proceed to follow us for a bit. We turned around and headed back to the same road.
First run 20-100. I spun through first but stayed dead even with the vette to 100 and we shut down.
Run 2 50 roll. I honk it off and go but for some reason my brother waited to downshift untill after i honked it off. Wasnt pretty for him.
Run 3 20-100+. Honked it off and stayed dead even tilla round 90 and the vette started pullin away. At 100 i was at his rear bumper at 110 he was half a car out and i shut down.
All in all im impressed with my car. I know my brother can row some gears so i think i did allright. I need to get a tune and try it again.

+3. I was bolt'on, cammed and geared and it was all I could do to stay beside a LS3 vette from a 45 roll up to 100+. From 100 to 120, he put a healty 1.5 cars on me.

LS3 vette should wreck a bolt-on fbody. Even with a crappy driver.

Good runs. Without a good tune to help eliminate the TM on shifts, the LS3 (M6) C6's are only a hair quicker than the LS2 C6's. Makes perfect sense.

Now he is only a tune and exhaust away from 425-430rwhp. Then it would REALLY shine.

alright fellas lets be easy on the old LS1, lol yes the LS3 are excellent motors, but I still love my LS1.

Anyways from what I'm hearing, I'd say a new vette would pull a modded f -body. GM's doing a great job with these new small blocks
