Default Infiniti G35 Coupe

First, let me say that these G35's are sweet looking cars. So, we went from a light. When it was go time, I just did a clutch dump @ 2800 and the new Nitto's grabbed like glue (I used to spin the F1's thru 3rd). The result was simply a slaughter... there was no "he got the jump," it was just wham, bam, 1st, 2nd, 3rd and the result was a little more than a couple of buslengths (and yes, he was racing). Well, it's nothing exciting, but I've had a long, long, long dryspell. Hopefully, more action to come...

Agreed, the G35's are really sweet looking but don't pack a whole lot of punch. Nice cars, just not my taste. Good description on the Nitto's. I have to change tires in the spring and that's definitely what I'm going with. Good kill.

Thanks.

Yeah, the Nitto's hook up great.
I don't know why I didn't get 'em sooner.

The G35s are such nice cars, I'd definitely drive one if I was dumb enough to spend that much money on a slow car. They're very luxurious.

Nice kill!

Did the guy in the G35 actually instigate a race with you? What was he thinking?
The Nittos rule for everyday street use. My first gear was absolutely useless before I got them, didn't matter what rpm, my tires always broke loose at WOT. Even had problems with the bottom of second gear. Now I only break loose from a roll if I am on a slick surface like blacktop and some of the non textured concrete roads.
By the way, congrats on the slaughter. I'm sure that was an eye opener for the disillusioned G35 driver.

db,
Yeah, don't know what he was on, but he sure found out what he had comin' to him.

camaro,
That car is basically a luxo 350Z from what I understand. It caught my eye at last year's auto show, and they're not too $$$.

Thanks Evil, and yes I do.

Yep ... I have heard the same thing. The G35 is only 260hp and 260 ft/tq from what I have read though. Really nice car none-the-less however.

Yeah, Nissan is my favorite import car manu anyway. I'd rather have an '04 GTO than a G35 as a daily driver, anyhow...

For the price of a brand new 6spd G35.. I'd probably go hunting for a used 01 M3.
Had one scream by me the other day.. That V6 sounds decent.

I'm assuming this was done in your SS. If not what do you have done to that RX-8?

Congrats, you just proved that you're a 350 z/ g35 fanboy by bringing up this old thread just to ask that dumb question. You just lost my respect and probably everyone eles's.

Well Rx8s are slow and will lose to a 350z/G35.. They absolutly suck in a straight line.. So I dont see anything wrong with that statement

Yeah I know, but this thread is so old. That and it's obvious the kill was in the SS, I don't think you could have gotten and '06 RX8 in '03 lol.

at the 4 year bump. G35s are very clean cars. Being what they are, I think they have enough power for a "sporty" luxury car. Nothing of the likes that LS1techers would appreciate, but it's got more than enough under the hood for what it's made to do.

Besides, a G35 wears the VQ much better than the weird-looking 350Z.
