Default Finally got me an L

My first race against one of these, and I was surprised by it. I was driving back towards one of my friends' house, with another friend riding shot gun. As I'm driving, I see this Grey Lightning behind me in the other lane. Long behold, we catch a light. We both look at each other, and I see him pull forward, somewhat staging. We didn't race from a dead stop, but kinda both riding out our gears, not knowing what the other one is doing. I start to hear his blower whine, so I say **** it and floor it. I see he does the same, and we are going. By the time I was nearing 3rd, I shut down, with him 1-2 cars behind me. We are doing twice the speed limit now (35mph), thus why I cut it short. As I'm slowing, he kinda does a ricer fly-by, passing at about 50 mph while I'm on my brakes. Needless to say, I was happy.

His mods:.....seemed to be stock. Mine are in my sig. This was my first race in ALONG time, so I was stoked. Then later, as I'm pulling onto the highway, I see a black "evo" go by, so I floored it quickly to catch up. Ended up being a ES with the evo wing...Could tell because of the front, and lack of evo bumper and intercooler. I laughed, and kept on my way. Sorry for the read, just thought I would share.

i have an edge gt and damnit sometimes i wonder if i should have gotten a lightning. they are ****** sweet. you get speed (++) in a truck package (i like trucks)...i looked at a few for near the same price as my car (and same year and miles)...only downside is they were automatic and im sure the gas is worse.

nice runs

Good race - stock L's are around 13.5-13.8 sec vehicles under good conditions.

I've had a few F-bodies play around with me with diffferent results - finally got the SS equal to it.

I would love an L for my daily drive around/haul little **** truck, but with gas as it is, it would just suck. Great trucks though, and are damn fast for how heavy they are.

LOL I know what you mean! Once I hadn't had a race in a while so I decided to pick on a bolt on Integra Type R. So here is a H/C/I Mustang 5.0 with a turbo running a bolt on 4 cylinder. It was funny. And I didn't let off the throttle til around 135mph. I was about 5 blocks ahead of him by then.

You are gonna need a few more mods before you tangle with a Lightning. According to your 1/8 times you have a low to mid 14 sec truck.

And don't lighnings launch like all hell? So his truck would have to play hella catch up...don't see it happening.

And stopsign...Hell I would race a bolt on D motor if I have too. Kinda like the solstice GXP I saw while in my DD...Driving like an idiot with his "badass" car, they need to be shown how **** really is. And bolt on Type R.........My first race, my first lost, on my first day with my car was to a Type R teg

I also raced a white 2wd single cab hemi that night( a guy I used to work with) and half tracked'em

Hey man, what was required to get 14#s out of your Lightning? Is it just upper and lower pulleys? Which pulleys are you using? What's the stock boost on a Lightning? Just curious. 115 is haulin *** in a freakin truck.

14# is easy - just throw a 6# lower pully on with a good tune and hang on - stock boost is 8#. A 6# pulley with a good CAI will get the Lightnings into the mid 12's - mine has a few more mods to go with the 14# of boost and is even quicker now in the 1/4 than in the sig.

Badhawk - you have the same motor as the later L's - just a smaller MAF, 3.55's and a tune that's way too rich.
