C5 loses to Alcohol Swilling Turbo Neon
A C5 vert comes flying up behind me after getting free of traffic on the way to work. We are coming up to a red light, so I'm thinking, cool, a dig race if I'm lucky (vettes almost never go for it). Well the light turns green as we are slowing down and I drop to 3rd at about 35 as I let him catch up to see if he's game. He goes WOT as he starts to pass, so he's almost even with me when I hit it in third. I walked away pretty hard and even spun a little to about 90 there was about 3 cars or so and gettin' ugly. I shut it down and he caught up and gave the thumbs up; didn't get to talk as he needed to turn. Appeared and sounded stock.
I'm in the middle of getting the E85 tune worked out on the neon (you know the unmentionable kind) so it's not optimal yet. It's got a ported big wheel stock turbo with all supporting mods at 24psi. There is a bit more left in it.

Nice kill but why would you be lucky to run from a dig in a skittle? Good luck getting any traction in a FWD car that can only run tires 225 wide. My friend has a 400whp one and it's useless from anything but a high roll.

Yeah, I'm not fooling myself that it's the best car ever. It is what it is, a pretty quick beater. It will never put up good numbers at the track for want of traction and to make it do that would ruin the driveability (best of 13.3 @ 111 stock turbo & street tires, new numbers soon). I'm just having fun with this and saving gas and mileage on the SS.
