Talking 3rd gen kills neon

I beat this guy the other nite on a curvy road and he said he does better on the hiway so i got his # and setup a weekend race from a dead stop. I have an 87 Z28 w/ 305TPI, 4:10's, Transgo kit and vette servo, headers and this kid, who goes to my school had a 1990's neon 5spd with exhaust, intake, and header...We raced twice and both were equally horrible. My Z got him by like 12-15 cars each time with no descrepancies. just thought i'd share

Leave the guy alone......is a GM driver and put a Mopar wannabe away. Good for you! All you other guys had to start somewhere...sure he has aspirations of driving bigger and badder down the road.

We all do start somewhere..

My 3rd Gen was my 2nd F-body, It was faster then my first..lol

My first was a 77 Camaro with a 350 that the guy I got it from had put a two barrel carb off a 305 on. Man it was a rocket!

Then the 86 T/A which was a high 14 sec car with alot of crap done,

then my 94 Camaro quick but not fast

and now my slow LS1 car

I've had 4 3rd gens...305 5spd Iroc was my favorite. I've also had 2 1st gen neons both of which were pretty quick to be stock..one even outrun a 3rd gen camaro. I still have one neon for my DD and of course an ls1 which will get down the 1/8 a lot faster than any of my previous 25 or so vehicles including mustangs. And as you might have guessed I look like Joe Dirt and live in a trailor..ROCK ON!!..lol

Default hold on

where did all this 3rd gens are slow come from ? my 1990 iroc-z L98 350 245hp 345 ft.lbs stock with 125,000 miles ran 13.9-14.2 all day. i think they where very fast for the time . the 89 turbo ta ran high 12s stock .you migh not want to count that 1 cause its was a limited production but they made twice as many turbo ta as they did 1990 iroc-z.with the low rpm power band they make some of the best 8 mile race cars .just trew that out there im a fan of all fbodys
