Viper gets OWNED!!!! (long but worth it....) I'm leaving school tonight, I get onto 101 going North and get into the far left/fast lane. Everything is good (nice night), I set the cruse for a leisurely drive home (wounding if I should have taken the tops off)...
next thing I know this 20ish yeah old guy in a steel gray Viper GTS (01 or 02) flys up next to me, downshifts, and starts F*ing with me (looking over and giving me the "I'll own you" face...
)......car has a pretty nice sound and I notice he has 5 points..... 
I look over at him.....nod to let him know its on when the road clears...and then roll up my windows so I can get the BEST aerodynamics possible (I am SO happy I had the T-tops on)....for a while we are stuck in a "blob" of traffic (ahead of the "blob" there are NO cars on the ENTIRE rest of the highway....but just can't GET up there).....and then finally the lane he is in opens up (all this time he has been right next to me downshifting..letting me know he is THERE and his car is BAD *** ).......
so he floors it and puts about 2 car lengths before I have time to downshift, move over into his lane, and go after him (this is where it get fun
)......as he takes off I notice his license plate says EGOTRIP (ego trip..... )....
So here it is:
I downshifted into 3rd and floor it.....(by now his lead is probably 3 - 4 car lengths).....I hold it and don't "watch" him....just "glance" now and then to see where he is.....instead I'm zoned to the tach ,the temp gauges, and listening for ping....
4th.....(think to myself...wow...that shift went FAST...I'm getting better).....I look up.... .....I'm within 1 car length of this guy........
just about the time I make the shift to 5th I have come out from behind him and am now passing his front fender on his left.....he is still full throttle
........
time seems to be going supper slow now......
"somehow" I glance at the speedometer and WTF!?!?!
its PAST the numbers...... ...... WHATS THE TACH SAY?!?!?! almost 6000RPM!!!!!!!!!!! (now that I'm home and can calculate the speed, thats ~165MPH!!! ).....
I shift into 6th, let off the gas, and look in my mirror....sure enough the guy is STILL GOING (starts to gain back a tad when I let off).......oh well...WTF......this is WAY TOO FAST for me....so I just let off and hit the hazards.......and what’s even wilder is the temps....the water is ~185 and the oil just hit 200.....now THATS a cooling system…my car could have kept going at that pace even LONGER...
I brake and I guess he did because he slowed "about" the same time I did.....I went all the way down to 45 to let him come up next to me (to see how "ego trip" is doing
).....but he WON'T come up next to me.....finally pulls over a lane.....so I go back up to 65....take the next exit (since I'm WAY past mine by now) and go home......

I have NEVER had the car that fast....EVER.....usually 135 is ENOUGH for me.....I say NO MORE and let off......but WOW.....this is why I have a handling car (LG coilovers and rod end EVERYTHING).....even at that speed on curves she just kept asking for more......I felt like
ing my car I was so happy......

Once my car hits around 140 I can tell that i'm going waaaay too fast because the **** feels like it's bouncing all over the place. NICE KILL... i wanna feel what it's like to kill a viper one day...

Re: Viper gets OWNED!!!! (long but worth it....) Great kill! A friend of mine has a complete bolt on, !cats 2000 steel grey ACR with 3.55s and 315 HREs making 435 to the wheels. Wicked machine,the only car that ever scared me. We plan on going to the track this month or next.

Re: Viper gets OWNED!!!! (long but worth it....) Man that is an awesome story, Fastest I've had my car was around 155 and I was like holy **** cause I was passing cars so fast it really was scary. Great kill. That guys deserved it!
