H/C Z28 vs. 403whp Neon
My good friend used to have a CLEAN white third gen Camaro, but now he has a Stage 4 turbo S R T 4. I couldn't tell you all his mods, but I know he has a downpipe and a cutout in addition to the stage 4 stuff. His car made 403/444 on a dynojet recently, and my car should be right around 400whp through my unlocked stall.
We both know I'd win from a dig, so we found an open stretch of highway in Mexico the other day. He asked for a 50 roll, so we slowed to 50 and I honked it off. It was a short race but we went through a gear and before he shifted I was a half car ahead. As soon as he shifted he fell back a good bit (maybe another half- 3/4's of a car?) and I shut down because we were running out of room.
We're trying to go out on the highway with a camera and get a few runs on video soon. My win really surprised me because we are making pretty equal power and his car is significantly lighter. But I guess anything can happen on the street.
Edit: Fixed his tq numbers.

Yeah, maybe his dyno numbers were a little off too. Who knows? I wasn't pulling him very hard when he wasn't shifting, but I was definitely pulling him a little. He's not the quickest shifter, so that definitely hurt him too.
And I'm almost 100% sure that he wasn't brake boosting.

Wow. 400whp it is then. Nice kill on a 2800lb skittle with a ton of power! And FWIW, I would never do business with AGP again. I bought a wastegate from them a few years back that was busted out of the box. Worst customer service ever. I don't remember the dude who answered the phones but he had to be related to the owner. He was an unapologetic *****.

It was long enough to see who would pull. He asked for a 50 roll, which is the best speed for him. He's in his powerband. Even if I got the jump, don't you think he should have made up some ground at SOME point? He never did.

you weigh a good 400+ lbs more than him im guessing. similar hp but with a huge advantage in hp/weight. unless he is running like 4:10 gears and just has Absolutely no top end he should win.
i mean good kill. but they need alot less power to run the same speeds as us.
just like we need less power to outrun a Cobra or a car heavier than us.
